What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (ANDREW STREET, COMPSTALL) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has on 2 October 2025 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 which will come into operation on the 25 November 2025. The effect of the Order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time: Cotton Lane - (North Side), from the intersection of the western kerbline of Andrew Street for a distance of 108 metres in a westerly direction, Cotton Lane - (South Side), from the intersection of the western kerbline of Andrew Street for a distance of 112 metres in a westerly direction, Weavers Close - (Both Sides), from the intersection of the southern kerbline of Cotton Lane for a distance of 15 metres in a southerly direction. A copy of the Order and map may be obtained from Stockport Legal Services, Town Hall Stockport. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or the Road Traffic Act 1991, or that a requirement of the Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
