Merton, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
2. During the works:-
(a) no person will cause or permit any vehicle to enter Bond Road from London Road;
(b) the width restriction located fourteen metres south-east of a point in line with the eastern boundary of No. 29 Bond Road will be suspended;
(c) the loading bay in Raleigh Gardens will be suspended for use as a bus stand.
3. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
4. Traffic affected by the no entry prohibition should proceed via London Road, Lavender Avenue and Mortimer Road.
5. Nothing in the Order will apply: –
(a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(b) to the police, fire brigade or ambulance services.
6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any waiting restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
7. The Order will come into operation on Thursday 2nd October 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within 6 weeks. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months should further works be required.

PROPOSED ROAD HUMPS – PARK AVENUE, MITCHAM
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, under powers conferred by section 90A-F of the Highways Act 1980 and after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, intend to introduce 5 road humps, each 3.7 metres long, with a maximum height of 75mm high across the full width of the road, at the general locations specified in the Schedule to this notice.
A plan of the area showing the proposed humps can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden. Information is also available at https://www.merton.gov.uk/Park
