What is happening?

Castle Road (D2063) Epsom

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Further to the issue of a Notice under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 “the Act”, on 26 September 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of “the Act”, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Castle Road (D2063) Epsom as extends from its junction with Dorking Road (A24) to its junction with Ebbisham Road (D2140).

Alternative route – Castle Road, A24 (Dorking Road) and Ebbisham Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate repairs and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access will be maintained south of the works site at 34 Castle Road.

D2196 Hartford Road, West Ewell

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 1 October 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D2196 Hartford Road, West Ewell. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate capital safety schemes and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Alternative Route – D2090 Collier Close and C164 Chessington Road.

Chantilly Way (D2267) Epsom

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of: (a) Chantilly Way (D2267) Epsom as extends from its junction with (B284) Hook Road and for a distance of 70 metres in a south westerly direction along Chantilly Way; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Chantilly Way (D2267) Epsom Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: Chantilly Way, Horton Lane, and (B284) Hook Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to facilitate installation of telecom pole works for, or on behalf of WHP Telecoms. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access by emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

D2089 College Road, Epsom

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D2089 College Road, Epsom that extends from the centre of its junction with D2272 Lynwood Road, to the south-eastern property boundary of “No.25 College Road”.

Alternative route:- College Road, Church Road and Albert Road.

This Traffic Order is required to enable Thames Water to carry out excavations in the carriageway and/or reinstatement, installations and/or water mains connection and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm, within the limits of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
