HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WALKERS ROAD AND THE FOOTWAY SITUATED ON BOTH SIDES OF WALKERS ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following length of road (“the Road”) and footway (“the Footway”) will be:–

  1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Walkers Road, Harpenden from a point 35 metres north east of its junction with Queens Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 237m.

    An alternative route will be via Walkers Road, A1081 St Albans Road, Bull Road, Southdown Road and Walkers Road.

  2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the footway situated on both sides of Walkers Road, Harpenden from a point 35m north east of its junction with Queens Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 237m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Walkers Road, the footway situated on the east and south east sides of Queens Road, the footway situated on the south west and west sides of Southdown Road and the footway situated on the north side of Walkers Road.

    The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footway.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Footway.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH FRONTING NOS. 9–12 SPRUCE WAY AND THE FOOTPATH FRONTING NOS. 9–12 WALNUT CLOSE, PARK STREET) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpaths”):–

  1. the footpath fronting Nos. 9–12 Spruce Way, Park Street from its junction with Spruce Way north westwards, south westwards and north westwards for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  2. the footpath fronting Nos. 9–12 Walnut Close, Park Street from its junction with Walnut Close north westwards to its junction with Spruce Way, a distance of approximately 27m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west and south sides of Walnut Close, the footway situated on the west side of Grovelands and the footway situated on the south and east sides of Spruce Way.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 October 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MILE HOUSE LANE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mile House Lane, St Albans from its junction with Napsbury Lane south eastwards to its junction with Mile House Close, a distance of approximately 54m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Mile House Lane, Cottonmill Lane, Watsons Walk, A1081 London Road and Mile House Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CROUCH HALL LANE, REDBOURN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Crouch Hall Lane, Redbourn from its junction with Long Cutt north westwards to its junction with Blackhorse Lane, a distance of approximately 160m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Crouch Hall Lane, Lamb Lane, The Common, Fish Street, High Road, Dunstable Road and Blackhorse Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

  1. the road situated on the east side of Nos. 1–17 Nurseries Road, Wheathampstead from its junction with Nurseries Road north eastwards for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  2. the road leading to Nos. 33–47 Green Lane, St Albans from its junction with Green Lane north westwards, south westwards, north eastwards and south eastwards for its entire length.

    An alternative route will be via Roundwood Lane, Wood End Road and Yeomans Avenue.

  7. that length of Heydons Close, St Albans from its junction with Townsend Drive south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 82m.

  1. that length of Sheppards Close, St Albans from its junction with Beech Road southwards, south westwards and clockwise for its entire length.

    There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

  2. that length of Midway, St Albans from its junction with Abbey Avenue south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Westfields, a distance of approximately 325m.

    An alternative route will be via Abbey Avenue and Westfields.

  3. that length of Dubrae Close, St Albans from its junction with Westfields north eastwards to its junction with for its entire length, a distance of approximately 130m.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Crown Street, Redbourn from a point 30m north east of its junction with Harding Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 60m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Crown Street, Harpenden Lane, Ver Road and Crown Street.

The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpaths”) and public footpath (“the Public Footpaths”):–

  1. the footpath situated to the rear of Nos. 2–38 Willow Way, St Albans from a point in line with the western boundary of No. 2 Willow Way north eastwards to its junction with Driftwood Avenue, a distance of approximately 295m.

    An alternative route will be via St Stephen Public Bridleway No.003A, the footway situated on the north east side of Manor Drive, the footway situated on the south east side of B4630 Watford Road and the footway situated on the south side of Driftwood Avenue.

  2. the footpath situated to the rear of Nos. 1–4 Mill Walk, Wheathampstead from its junction with B651 High Street north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with B651 Station Road, a distance of approximately 60m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south side of Allen Close and the footpath fronting Nos. 1–7 Allen Close.

  4. the footpath fronting Nos. 1–7 Allen Close, St Albans from its junction with Allen Close north westwards to its junction with B651 The Hill, a distance of approximately 199m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Allen Close, the footway situated on the north west and north sides of Hill Dyke Road and the footway situated on the east side of B651 The Hill.

  5. the footpath situated between No. 27 and No. 29 Mount Pleasant, St Albans from its junction with Mount Pleasant south westwards to its junction with Fishpool Street, a distance of approximately 118m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north and south sides of Mount Pleasant, the footway situated on the east side of Branch Road and the footway situated on the north side of Fishpool Street.

  1. the footpath situated on the north side of ‘Jersey Farm’, St Albans from its junction with the footpath situated on the west side of House Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 259m.

    An alternative route will be via the footpath situated on the west side of House Lane, the footway situated on the north side of Villiers Crescent, the footway situated on the north side of Cheriton Close and the footpath situated on the west side of Nos. 11–13 Cheriton Close.

  2. the footpath situated on the east side of No. 26 Twyford Road, St Albans from its junction with Twyford Road north westwards to its junction with Sandridge Public Footpath No.026, a distance of approximately 49m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Twyford Road, the footway situated on the west side of Sandringham Crescent and Sandridge Public Footpath No.026.

  3. the footpath situated between No. 7 and No. 9 Twyford Road, St Albans from its junction with Twyford Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Sandridge UUCR No.1 (Jersey Lane), a distance of approximately 22m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of Twyford Road, the footway situated on the west side of Sandringham Crescent, Sandridge Public Footpath No.026 and Sandridge UUCR No.1 (Jersey Lane).

  4. the footpath situated to the rear of Nos. 7–17 Ripon Way, St Albans from a point in line with the south eastern boundary of No. 7 Ripon Way north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 83m.

  8. Between Nos. 7 and 9 Twyford Road, St Albans

    From Twyford Road southeastwards to Sandridge UUCR No.1 (Jersey Lane) (approx. 22m).

    Alternative route: North side of Twyford Road, west side of Sandringham Crescent, Public Footpath No.026, UUCR No.1.

  9. Rear of Nos. 7–17 Ripon Way, St Albans

    From the southeastern boundary of No. 7 Ripon Way northwestwards and southwestwards (approx. 83m).

    Alternative route: Footpath on north side of Jersey Farm.

  10. East side of No. 9 Ripon Way, St Albans

    From Ripon Way southwestwards (approx. 25m).

    No alternative route available. Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained where possible.

  11. North side of No. 14 and east side of No. 18 Ripon Way, St Albans

    From a point in line with the eastern boundary of No. 13 Ripon Way northwestwards, southwestwards and southeastwards (approx. 59m).

    There is no alternative route available for pedestrians when the works are being carried out. However pedestrian access to properties along this footpath will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

    12. The footpath situated between No. 24 and No. 25 Ripon Way, St Albans from its junction with Ripon Way south eastwards for a distance of approximately 16m.

    Alternative route: Via the footway situated on the west and north sides of Ripon Way, the footpath on the south side of Sandringham Crescent, the footpath on the west side of House Lane and the footpath on the north side of ‘Jersey Farm’.

    13. Wheathampstead Public Footpath No. 070 from its junction with Lattimore Road south eastwards to its junction with Wick Avenue, a distance of approximately 212m.

    Alternative route: Via the footway on the east side of Lattimore Road and the footway on the south west side of Wick Avenue.

    14. Wheathampstead Public Footpath No. 070 from its junction with Wick Avenue south eastwards to its junction with B651 The Hill, a distance of approximately 84m.

    Alternative route: Via the footway on the east side of Wick Avenue, the footway on the north side of Butterfield Road and the footway on the west side of B651 The Hill.

    15. Sandridge Public Footpath No. 044 from its junction with Sandridge Public Footpath No. 043 south eastwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 101m.

    Alternative route: Via Sandridge Public Footpath No. 043, the footpath fronting Nos. 14–20 Mendip Close, the footpath on the north east side of No. 117 Windmill Avenue, the footpath to the rear of Nos. 97–117 Windmill Avenue and Sandridge Public Footpath No. 044.

    16. Sandridge Public Footpath No. 021 from its junction with Sandridge Public Footpath No. 022 south eastwards to its junction with St Leonards Crescent, a distance of approximately 184m.

    Alternative route: Via Sandridge Public Footpath No. 022, the footpath on the west side of Woodcock Hill, the footpath on the north side of House Lane and the footpath on the south east side of Leonards Crescent.

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths and Public Footpaths.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 6 October 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths and Public Footpaths.

    An alternative route will be via Beech Road, A1081 (Harpenden Road/St Albans Road), B652 Station Road, B653 Lower Luton Road and B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/Wheathampstead Road/High Street/St Albans Road) or via Beech Road, A1081 Harpenden Road and B651 (Stonecross/Sandridge Road).

    2. That length of Marshalswick Lane, St Albans from its junction with Gurney Court Road south westwards to its junction with B651 St Albans Road, a distance of approximately 84m.

    Alternative route: Marshalswick Lane, Sandpit Lane and B651 (Sandridge Road/St Albans Road)

    or

    Marshalswick Lane, Sandpit Lane, Oaklands Lane, Coopers Green Lane, B653 (Brocket Road/Marford Road/Cory Wright Way/Codicote Road) and B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/Wheathampstead Road/High Street/St Albans Road).

    3. That length of B651 St Albans Road, Sandridge from its junction with Beech Road north eastwards to its junction with B651 High Street, a distance of approximately 1610m.

    Alternative route: Beech Road, A1081 (Harpenden Road/St Albans Road), B652 Station Road, B653 Lower Luton Road and B651 (Station Road/High Street/The Hill/Wheathampstead Road/High Street).

    The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

    The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

    NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old London Road, St Albans from its junction with Alma Cut north westwards for a distance of approximately 96m (“the Road”), except for access.

    Alternative route: Old London Road, A1081 London Road, Watsons Walk and Old London Road.

    The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

    The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

    • Revoke a section of limited waiting restriction in that location, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

    The Order will come into effect on Tuesday 7 October 2025.
