What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BEDFORD ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Houghton Regis between Midway Cottage and Keepers Cottage.

This temporary closure is required to enable section 278 works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 to 30 October 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A5, Watling Street, B5120 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HARLINGTON ROAD, SHARPENHOE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Harlington Road, Sharpenhoe approximately 80 metres west of Mill End and approximately 110 metres east of Lovett Green.

This temporary closure is required to enable mains connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 27 to 31 October 202. T5he road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Sharpenhoe Road, Streatley Road, Sundon Road, B579, B530, A5120, Toddington Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CHALGRAVE ROAD, CHALGRAVE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Chalgrave Road, Chalgrave from Lords Hill to Toddington Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable section 278 remedial work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 17 October 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Dunstable Road, A5, Hockliffe Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(BEDFORD ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Houghton Regis between Bidwell Hill and Roslyn Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable vegetation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 15 October 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Thorn Road, Watling Street, B5120 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(NEW AIRPORT WAY ENTRY SLIP ROAD FROM LONDON ROAD SOUTH ROUNDABOUT, HYDE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the entire length of New Airport Way Entry Slip Road from London Road South Roundabout, Hyde.

This temporary closure is required to enable drainage system cleansing and CCTV survey works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 18 October 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A1081.

The Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sharpenhoe Road, Streatley outside number 235.

This temporary closure is required to enable electrical maintenance work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 13 to 17 October 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Sharpenhoe Road, Barton Road, Sharpenhoe Road, B655, A6, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HOUGHTON REGIS: PART  OF BRIDLEWAY NO. 44)

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024

NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION

Notice is hereby given that the works required to divert part of Houghton Regis Bridleway No. 44 have been completed in accordance with the requirements of Article 2 of the above Order, which was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 3 May 2024. The new route is effective from 6 January 2025.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 – SECTION 257

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HOUGHTON REGIS:  PARTS OF FOOTPATH NOS 4 AND A7 AND HOUGHTON REGIS  BRIDLEWAY NOS 58 AND 59) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2021

NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION

Notice is hereby given that the works to Bridleway Nos. 58 and 59, Houghton Regis to provide alternative highways to Footpath Nos. 4 and A7, Houghton Regis being stopped up have been completed in accordance with the requirements of Articles 2 and 4 of the above Order, which was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council on 30 June 2023.

Footpath Nos. 4 and A7, Houghton Regis are hereby stopped up as of 26 September 2024.

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 – SECTION 257

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (STUDHAM: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 29) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2022

NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION

Notice is hereby given that the works required to divert part of Footpath No. 29, Studham have been completed in accordance with the requirements of Articles 2 and 4 of the above Order, which was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council on 27 January 2023. The new route is effective from 26 August 2025.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HOUGHTON REGIS: PARTS OF FOOTPATH NOS 4, 16 AND 40)

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER No.2 2022

NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION

Notice is hereby given that the works required to divert parts of Footpaths Nos. 4, 16 and 40, Houghton Regis have been completed in accordance with the requirements of Articles 2 and 4 of the above Order, which was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council on 27 January 2023. The new routes are effective from 26 June 2025.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CHALTON: FOOTPATH NO.46)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 9th April 2025 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of public Footpath No. 46, Chalton which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0261 2788 to OSGR TL 0311 2676

has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 15th April 2026.

This temporary closure is required as part of the route is flooded and has a damaged culvert that needs repairing and whilst Anglian Water carry out works to replace the culvert. The closure is expected to continue from 15th October 2025 for up to six months.

The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation is (from Point A on plan) east along Bridleway 49, along Bridleway No. 2, east over the motorway bridge then south along FP15, west over the motorway bridge on FP14, then along FP21 and along FP4 to join FP46 (Point B on plan).

If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
