What is happening?

WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
UNDER SECTION 14/1 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
WEST BERKSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (THE COUNCIL) INTENDS TO MAKE ORDERS AS FOLLOWING


(RUSSELL ROAD, TOWN OF NEWBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025
The Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Russell Road in Newbury between properties 24 and 28 Russell Road.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is Russell Road, Blenheim Road, Glouster Road, Chalford Road, Russell Road and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for SGN to lay a new service.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 4th October 2025.
It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 4th and 10th October 2025.

(SPEEN LANE, TOWN OF NEWBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025

The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Speen Lane in Newbury between its junction with Old Bath Road and its junction with A4 Bath Road.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Old Bath Road and A4 Bath Road and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Network Plus Services Ltd to connect a new water connection on behalf of Thames Water.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 20th October 2025.
It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 20th and 31st October 2025.

(BOWLING GREEN ROAD, PARISH OF THATCHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2025

The Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in any direction over Bowling Green Road in Thatcham between its junctions with Gordon Road.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by the Order is via Henwick Lane and Gordon Road, and vice versa.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to take place on or near the highway, namely for Network Plus Services Ltd to connect a new water connection on behalf of Thames Water.
The proposed Order will come into effect on 22nd October 2025.
It is envisaged that the closure will be in place between 22nd and 24th October 2025.

Unless stated otherwise the above orders shall remain in force for a period of eighteen months, or until the works are complete, whichever is the soonest, they will not take effect until approved traffic signs have been erected. Final details of the closure can be viewed on One.Network
