Headley Park Avenue - School Street Prohibition Of Driving One Way Traffic

What is happening?

CITY OF BRISTOL

(HEADLEY PARK AVENUE, BISHOPSWORTH WARD, CITY OF BRISTOL) (SCHOOL STREET PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) (ONE WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that on 2nd October 2025 it made a traffic order, the effect of which will be:- 

1. to prohibit any vehicle from entering or proceeding in that length of Headley Park Avenue from Headley Lane to Headley Park Road between the hours of 8.15 a.m. and 8.50 a.m. and the hours of 2.50 p.m. and 3.40 p.m. on Monday to Friday. The closures will operate during Headley Park Primary School term days only; and

2. to introduce northbound one way traffic in Headley Park Avenue from Headley Lane to Headley Park Road. 

Exemption to the prohibition of entering or proceeding will be provided for pedal cycles, blue badge holders, for specified/statutory purposes and for permit holders. Permits will be available to eligible Headley Park Avenue residents and their essential visitors, and where necessary access to Headley Park Primary School is required. 

Exemption to the one way provisions will be provided for pedal cycles.

The order will come into operation on 6th October 2025 and a copy thereof, together with plans and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the order may be inspected at the Citizen Service Point at 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
