What is happening?

REDCAR AND CLEVELAND BOROUGH COUNCIL
(HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE TREE CUTTING PROGRAMME) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Not less than 7 days herefrom the Council intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the lengths of road specified below.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in the lengths of road as specified in Schedule 1 below and impose a mandatory 30 mph speed limit on the lengths of road as specified in Schedule 2 below. 

(Vehicles falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with Regulation 3(5) of those Regulations will be exempt from the speed restriction.)

(The above restrictions will only apply at such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs).

The Order will come into operation on 27.10.25 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months.

SCHEDULE 1
Flatts Lane from A171 to Flatts Lane Country Park from 27.10.25 to 31.10.25 from 08:00 hours to 16:00 hours, weather permitting.

Hutton Lane from Rectory Lane Junction to Thames Avenue junction (towards The Avenue) from 25.11.25 to 26.11.25 from 09:00 hours till 15:00 hours weather permitting. 

SCHEDULE 2
Kirkleatham Lane from Kirkleatham Lane Roundabout to adjacent to Kirkleatham Lane (village) Junction. 
From 20.1.26 to 22.1.26 from 09:00 hours till 15:00 hours, weather permitting.
