PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. BCC/677 BRISTOL
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025 NO 6

On 2 October 2025, Bristol City Council confirmed the above order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert :

The public footpath running from that part of public footpath number BCC/677 from Argyle Place, at grid reference 357455 172571, in a southerly direction to Cliftonwood Terrace, at grid reference 357458 172518, being a total distance of approximately 55 metres to the diverted route which runs from Argyle Place, at grid reference 357474 172568 in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 56 metres to said grid reference 357458 172518, being a total distance of approximately 56 metres with a width of approximately 1.5 metres as shown on the order map, and to modify the definitive map and statement. A copy of the order as confirmed and the order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Bristol City Council, City Hall, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR during normal office hours. Copies of the order and order map may be sent by second class post on receipt of a written request at a price of £6 to cover the Council’s administrative costs. 

The order comes into force on 2 October 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date on which the notice is first published on 7 October 2025, make an application to the High Court.
