What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(A592 TOWER WOOD AND A592 TROUTBECK)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclist), from proceeding along that section of the:

(i) A592 Tower Wood, from its junction with the B5360, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 1.6km. Alternate Route: via the A590, A591 and the unrestricted sections of the A592. Duration: From 22nd October 2025 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROW/16011)

(ii) A592 Troutbeck, from its junction with Green Gate, extending in a southerly direction for a distance of approx. 3km. Alternate route: via the A593, U5542, A591, A66 and the unrestricted sections of the A592. Duration: From 22nd October 2025 for approx. 1 week (Ref: TTROW/16015)

The Order will come into operation on 22nd October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
