What is happening?

(Footpath 79, Braintree) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 79 in the District of Braintree, from its junction with New Street West to its junction with St Michaels Lane for approximately 48 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 07 October 2025 to 22 October 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation of electricity cabling is undertaken.
Alternative route: New Street, South Street, St Michaels Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 07 October 2025 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Beazley End, Wethersfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Beazley End, Wethersfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 65m north east of its junction with Codham Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th October 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30023299679 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Hedingham Road, Hudsons Hill, High Street, B1053, Church Lane, Church Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Harrow Hill, Toppesfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harrow Hill, Toppesfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Gainsford End Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (HP00177588491 – National Grid). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by National Grid.
No alternative route is available.
The Order will come into effect on 9th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Pentlow Lane, Pentlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Pentlow Lane, Pentlow in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 2070m north west of its junction with Foxearth Road to the Suffolk District Border a distance of approximately 65m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20196388923 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while culvert repairs works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Pentlow Lane, Melford Road, Lower Road, Clare Road, Windmill Hill, Westgate Street, High Street, Hall Street, Footway Beside 149 Cordell Road To Outside No.145 Cordell Place, Smaley Lane, Little St Marys, Chapel Green, Southgate Street, Station Road, Rodbridge Hill, Borley Road, Halstead Road, Foxearth Road, School Street, The Street, Mill Road, Pentlow Hill, Pentlow Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Skye Green Road, Feering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Skye Green Road, Feering in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 595m north east of its junction with Coggeshall Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03063300791 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Coggeshall Road, The Street, Hanover Square, Wills Green, Old Road and vice versa. (with access only into Skye Green Road).
The Order will come into effect on 9th October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Braintree Road, Gosfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Braintree Road, Gosfield in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Petersfield Lane for a distance approximately 25m in a south westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th October 2025 for 2 nights (19:00–06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03063301012 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while meter maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via A131, A1124 and vice versa (with access only into A1017).
The Order came into effect on 25th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
