What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 The East Sussex (U6948 Parsonage Lane, Icklesham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Parsonage Lane – for its full extent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible. The Order commences 21 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 and 29 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7699 Marlpits Lane, Ninfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Marlpits Lane – from the junction with U7700 Manchester Road to the junction with U7114 Moons Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7700 Manchester Road – U7114 Moons Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 21 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 21 and 22 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C296 Military Road, Rye)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Military Road – from the junction with A268 Rye Hill to the junction with P6784 Saltbarn Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A268 Rye Hill, Rye Road – C295 Houghton Green Lane – C296 Military Road and vice versa. The Order commences 22 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 22 and 24 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3122 Combermere Road, St Leonards-on-Sea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Combermere Road – from the junction with C263 Springfield Road to the junction with U3120 Clinton Crescent.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C263 Springfield Road – C664 The Green – U3124 Charles Road West – U3120 Clinton Crescent and vice versa.

The Order commences 20 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 20 and 24 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2095 Top Road, Hooe)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Top Road – from the junction with U7110 Jarmans Lane to the junction with C706 Denbigh Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2095 Top Road, Hooe Road, Lower Street – C1128 Lower Street – A269 Bexhill Road, Ninfield Road, London Road, Combe Valley Way – A2690 Combe Valley Way – A259 Little Common Road, Little Common roundabout, Barnhorn Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 21 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 21 and 22 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6185 Broadway, Fairlight)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Trooli to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Broadway – from the junction with U6638 Waites Lane to the junction with P6756 Lower Waites Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 6 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 11 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6414 Grove Lane, Iden)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Grove Lane – from the junction with U6947 Playden Lane to the junction with B2082 Main Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2082 Main Street – U6947 Playden Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 6 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 8 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6629 Moat Lane, Westfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Moat Lane – from the junction with A21(T) Ebdens Hill to the junction with U6629 Parsonage Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21(T) Ebdens Hill – A28 Westfield Lane, Church Lane – C22 Wheel Lane – U6629 Parsonage Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 3 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 3 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3208 High Street, Hastings)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

High Street – from the junction with U3210 Courthouse Street to the junction with U3210 Roebuck Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A259 East Beach Street, The Bourne – U3210 Roebuck Street.

The Order commences 6 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 14 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6299 Rookery Lane, Winchelsea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Rookery Lane – from the junction with C298 High Street to the junction with U6299 Back Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C298 High Street – U6299 St Thomas Street, Back Lane and vice versa.

The Order commenced 16 June 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 6 and 10 October 2025, depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U3146 Station Approach, St Leonards-on-Sea)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow Network Rail to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road; Temporary Road Closure

Station Approach – from the junction with A2102 London Road to the junction with U3146 Stainsby Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A2102 London Road – U3146 Hatherley Road, Stainsby Street and vice versa.

The Order commenced 18 May 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on the following dates depending upon the weather conditions: Between 10 and 13 October 2025

Between 17 and 20 October 2025
