40 Mph Speed Limit, Raikes Lane, Rylstone, Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 26/09/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 40 mph on any length of road specified below.
Raikes Lane Rylstone – 40mph Speed Limit
Raikes Lane, Rylstone from its junction with Fleets Lane to its junction with B6265.
A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 06/10/25, may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Skipton Library, 46A High Street, Skipton, BD23 1JX during normal office hours from 02/10/25 until 07/11/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map
or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders.If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 26/09/25 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Sheep Street, Skipton, Order 2025, No. 367
We intend to make this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Sheep Street, Skipton for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 19/10/25 & 16/11/25, due to Scaffolding works. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate.

Temporary Prohibition of Pedestrians, Public Footpath, 05.41/6/2 & 05.16/3/1 Thornton in Craven & Elslack, Order 2025 No 372
We have made this Order to prohibit any pedestrian from using the Public Footpath, 05.41/6/2 & 05.16/3/1 in the Parish of Thornton in Craven & Elslack, between grid reference SD92504901 & SD91254864 for a temporary period of 6 months (subject to access to premises) between 19/09/25 & 18/03/26, due to an unsafe footbridge.
This Order follows Emergency Notice No 153. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate.

Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment No 6, Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act and under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which will be to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Craven) Consolidation Order 2013” by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:

Skipton, Carleton New Road, North side from 5m east from the entrance to Kwik Fit, 15m in an easterly direction – Waiting Prohibited at All Times with Exemptions.

Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which will be to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Craven) Consolidation Order 2013” by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Various Locations, Skipton, Order 2025, No. 374
We intend to make this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Westmoreland Street, Skipton, Rowland Street, Skipton, George Street, Skipton, Sackville Street, Skipton & Belmont Wharf, Skipton for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 18/10/25 & 23/10/25, due to filming works.
However, the max duration of this Order is until 19/01/26.
The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate.
