Diversion of part of Footpath LA 28/10 over land at Duck Lane, Wick St Lawrence, North Somerset BS22 7RR

Public Path Diversion Order No.4 2025

On 18 September 2025 North Somerset Council confirmed the above Order, made under section 119, Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order, as confirmed is to divert part of footpath LA 28/10, over land at Duck Lane, Wick St Lawrence, North Somerset BS22 7RR, within the District of North Somerset.

Firstly, from point G (grid ref. ST3605694566), running in a generally southwesterly direction to point C (grid ref. ST3647664541), a total distance of approximately 36m as shown by a bold solid black line on map PPO2106 to a footpath from a point A (grid ref. ST3605664572), running in a west southwesterly direction for approximately 36m, to point B (grid ref. ST3647664555) then in a generally south southeasterly direction for approximately 45m to point C (grid ref. ST 3647664541) a total distance of 41m as shown by a bold broken black line on map PPO2106. Secondly, from point D (grid ref. ST3640565429) running in a northwesterly direction for approximately 16m to point H (grid ref: ST3643664519), then north northwesterly direction for approximately 8m to point F (grid ref. ST3643364526), a total distance of approximately 23m as shown by a bold solid black line on map PPO2106 to a footpath from a point D (grid ref. ST3640565429), running north, then north westerly direction for approximately 6m, then to point E (grid ref. ST3644555435), then southwesterly for approximately 15m to point F (grid ref. ST3643364526), a total distance of approximately 23m as shown by a bold broken black line on map PPO2106. The proposed route will have a grassed surface and a width of 2m.

Objections may be made to the High Court under the Order and Map, at 148 High Street, Worle, Weston-super-Mare BS22 6HG. The Order comes into force on the 16 October 2025 but, if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 2 October 2025, make an application to the High Court.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

A370 Somerset Avenue, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 20 October 2025

Ref: T25-53

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of carriageway resurfacing and pre-surface dressing patching, and will become operative on 20 October 2025, anticipated to be of 10 nights (excluding weekends) between 8pm and 6am. The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule – A370 Somerset Avenue (both directions) from West Wick Roundabout to Hutton Moor Roundabout. A371 Locking Moor Road from airport roundabout in a southerly direction for approximately 250m. Moor Lane from Airport Roundabout to Longridge Way.

Alternative routes for all schedules – A370 Somerset Avenue - A370 Somerset Avenue (part unaffected), A370 Bristol Road, M5 Junction 21 Roundabout, B3440 Bristol Road, B3440 New Bristol Road, B3440 Locking Road, Francis Fox Road, A370 Hildesheim Bridge, A370 Winterstoke Road, A370 Marchfields Way, A370 Herluin Way and vice-versa.

A370 Herluin Way, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists

Date coming into force: 3 November 2025

Ref: T25-54

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

This order is required because of pre-surface dressing patching and will become operative on 3 November 2025. The works will be carried out in two phases on Herluin Way.

  • Phase 1: closure of the westbound carriageway for 5 nights from 3 November 2025 between 8pm and 6am.

  • Phase 2: closure of the eastbound carriageway for 5 nights, from 10 November 2025 between 8pm and 6am.

The total duration of the closures is anticipated to be ten nights (excluding weekends). The maximum period for the closures is eighteen months, however, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

Schedule – A370 Herluin Way (both directions for full extents).

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1)

Date coming into Force: 15 December 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for pole replacement. This order will become operative on the 15 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 8 hours of duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to access multiple structures, both overhead and underground. This order will become operative on the 1 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 19 December 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to access underground structure to provide fibre underground cabling. This order will become operative on the 19 December 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, have made an order the effect of which:

Winscombe Hill, Winscombe, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 15 October 2025

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to carry out multiple overhead pole changes - erect new poles and overhead reconductoring. This order will become operative on the 15 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Footpath AX31/100/20, AX31/102/10, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2025

Date coming into Force: 29 September 2025

Ref: MLDP1

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset Council to resurfacing and improvement works to the Northern walkway and surrounding areas around the lake. This order will become operative on the 29 September 2025 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 months in duration. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule – Footpath AX31/100/20 from the disabled parking bay on Lakeside Causeway facing the lake to the stairway steps continuing on AX31/102/10 to the end of the seawall causeway inclusive of the Northern stairway.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to replace a pole. This order will become operative on the 17 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order will become operative on the 13 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 5 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for safe access of pole replacement. This order will become operative on the 13 October 2025 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 7 hours in duration between 8.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule – Bleadon Road one-way restriction from junction with Bridgwater Road A370 to junction with Purn Way in an easterly direction. Bleadon Road closed from junction with Purn Way to junction with Bridgwater Road A370 in a westerly direction. Works phased with closure of Bridge Road.
