Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Parsonage Hill (Part), Pitton and Farley; from its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a westerly direction to enable Southern Water to carry out chamber repair and associated works. Alternative route via Parsonage Hill (unaffected length) – The Street – Church Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 30 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 for 1 day. B) Church Street (Part), Bowerchalke; from outside its property known as Chase Cottage for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction to enable R Moore Contractors to carry out new foul connection. Alternative route via Church Street (unaffected length) – Quidham Street – Stowford Lane – High Lane– The Causeway – South Street – Bowerchalke Road – Church Street (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025 and the closure will be required until 31 October 2025. For further information please contact R Moore Contractors on 01747 821478.

C) Stonehenge Road (Part), Durrington; from its property known as Wykemere 41 to its junction with High Street.

D) High Street (Part), Durrington; from its junction with Stonehenge Road to its property known as No.23 High Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out drainage CCTV investigation survey and associated works. Alternative route via High Street (unaffected length) – A345 – Stonehenge Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 31 October 2025. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

E) C323 (Part), West Dean; for a distance of approximately 20m either side of the level crossing to enable Network Rail Infrastructure to carry out works at Dean Station level crossing. Alternative route via C323 (unaffected length) – Coach Road – East Tytherley Road – East Dean Road – C323 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 for 2 nights and then will recommence on 21 November 2025 between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 until 24 November 2025. F) C318 (Part), Tisbury; for a distance of approximately 50m either side of the railway bridge to enable Network Rail Infrastructure to carry out bridge maintenance works. Alternative route via C318 (unaffected length) – C25 – C24 – C318 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 October 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 22:00 and 05:00 for 1 night. © 62285 (Part), Idmiston; from its junction known as Leighurst for a distance of approximately 80m in a northerly direction to enable Wessex Water to complete a relining of the sewer to reduce infiltration and sewerage overflows. Alternative route via C285 (unaffected length) – A338 – C288 – C285 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 06 October 2025 and the closure will be required for 5 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 600 4600. Orders A) to G) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS, VARIOUS PARISHES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (No.60) 2025 (Ref TTRO 10693)

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice. The order is required to enable carriageway patching, surface dressing and associated maintenance works and will be operative from the 06 October 2025 for a maximum period of 18 months. The closures are anticipated to be for up to 5 days but only when the signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 2 weeks prior to the closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

The closures are anticipated to take place between 06 October 2025 and 05 January 2026.

    Notice is hereby given that on 24 September 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which is as follows:

    ORDER 1 – To amend The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Amesbury) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 2023 the effect of which is to introduce No Waiting at any time on Equinox Drive, Amesbury – both sides – i) from a point 46 metres south east of its junction with Stockport Avenue to its junction with Meridian Way in a south easterly direction ii) from a point 80 metres north west of its junction with Stockport Avenue to its junction with Meridian Way in a north westerly direction; Meridian Way, Amesbury – both sides – from a point 15 metres north of its junction with Sun Rise Way to a point 27 metres south of that junction; Sun Rise Way, Amesbury – both sides – from its junction with Porton Road to its junction with Meridian Way.

    ORDER 2 – To amend The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Durrington) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2023 the effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting at any time on Clover Lane, Durrington – both sides – from its junction with A345 Netheravon Road for a distance of 50 metres in an easterly direction; Larkhill Road, Durrington – south side – from a point 12 metres west of its junction with Philip Road to a point 12 metres east of that junction; Marina Crescent, Durrington – both sides – from its junction with Recreation Road, Durrington for a distance of 12 metres in a south easterly direction; Marina Road, Durrington – both sides – from its junction with Stonehenge Road for a distance of 12 metres in a south easterly direction; Recreation Road, Durrington – north side – from a point 65 metres east of its junction with Bulford Road to its junction with Stockport Avenue.

    Stonehenge Road, Durrington – south side – from a point 35 metres east of its junction with Bulford Road for a distance of 45 metres in an easterly direction; Stonehenge Road, Durrington – both sides – from a point 12 metres south west of its junction with Marina Road to a point 12 metres south east of that junction iii) from a point 12 metres north west of its junction with Marina Crescent to a point 12 metres south east of that junction.

    ORDER 3 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (UC 154707 High Street, Figheldean) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2019 and re-enact it to introduce No Waiting at any time on High Street, Figheldean – east side – from its junction with Avon banks for a distance of 39 metres in a northerly direction; High Street, Figheldean – both sides – from a point 12 metres north west of its junction with Pollen Lane to a point 12 metres south east of that junction; Pollen Lane, Figheldean – both sides – from its junction with High Street for a distance of 12 metres in a north easterly direction.

    ORDER 4 – To introduce No Stopping Monday to Friday 7.30am-9am and 2.30pm-4pm on C42 Middle Woodford, Woodford – west side – for a distance of 43 metres across the entrance to the Village Hall Car Park. A copy of the Orders can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Acts or that any requirement of that Section or Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the Act was not complied, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Orders will come into operation on 10 October 2025.
