What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Various Roads, Cerne Abbas

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, CERNE ABBAS; Piddle Lane – Alton Road – Long Street – The Folly – Duck Street – Back Lane – Sydling Road – Acreman Close – Abbey Court – Wills Lane The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 06 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 05 December 2025. The works will be carried out in sections to allow for diversion routes. This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to carry out fibre cable installation. Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections, where possible. Temporary Closure of Binghams Road, Crossways

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 9 October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13 October 2025. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works. The effect of the order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Binghams Road, Crossways between Dick O Th Banks Road and Green Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 510 metres. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Please note the closures will be in effect as indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will also be erected prior to the works commencing to inform the public of the dates and times of the road closure and traffic management measures.

[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Binghams Road, Crossways between Dick O Th Banks Road and Green Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 510 metres. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
