Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its
powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

MAIDSTONE AREA

 

A20 Ashford Road, Hollingbourne (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow the Maidstone Half Marathon event to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily restrict through traffic on part of A20 Ashford Road, Hollingbourne, on or after 19th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the event has been completed.

The road will be restricted to 50mph, from the Hollingbourne Interchange to the junction with Eyhorne Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 13:00 only. To the actual extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

B2010 Yalding Hill & Small Profits, Yalding, ME15 0PJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of B2010 Yalding Hill & Small Profits, Yalding, on or after 16th October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

B2010 Yalding Hill will be closed between the junction with Lughorse Lane and the junction with Shinglebarn Lane, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Small Profits will be closed between the junction of B2010 Yalding Hill and Hunt Street, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Small Profits, Hunt Street and B2010 Smiths Hill.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Small Profits, Hunt Street, Kenward Road and B2010 Yalding Hill.

 

B2163 Teston Lane, Teston, ME18 5BX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Teston Lane, Teston, on or after 16th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Teston Bridge, between the hours of 00:01 to 05:00, and 09:30 to 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via B2163 Teston Lane, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 College Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 The Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A26 Tonbridge Road and B2163 Teston Lane.

Babylon Lane, Sutton Valence (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Babylon Lane, Sutton Valence, on or after 29th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge, between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Babylon Lane, Forsham Lane, A274 Headcorn Road, New Barn Road, Babylon Lane and vice versa.

 

Bicknor Road, Bicknor, ME9 8AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bicknor Road, Bicknor, on or after 15th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Swanton Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bicknor Road, Court Danes Shaw, Swanton Street, Blind Marys Lane, Deans Hill Road, Deans Bottom, Kennel Barn Road, Church Lane, Bicknor Road and vice versa.

 

Chalky Road, Stockbury, ME9 7QN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chalky Road, Stockbury, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with South Street Road to in the vicinity of Sunnyside Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Chalky Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Church Hill, Church Lane and South Street Road.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via South Street Road, Church Lane, Church Hill, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury Roundabout, A249 Sittingbourne Road and Chalky Road.

 

Farleigh Lane, East Farleigh, ME16 9NB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Farleigh Lane, East Farleigh, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Gatland Lane to East Farleigh Railway Bridge, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Farleigh Bridge, Station Hill, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Tovil Road, Old Tovil Road, A229 Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 The Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A26 Tonbridge Road and Farleigh Lane.

Goddington Lane, Harrietsham ME17 1JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Goddington Lane, Harrietsham, on or after 30th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the Railway Bridge and property named Little Goddington. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.

 

Howland Road, Marden, TN12 9HE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Howland Road, Marden, on or after 14th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property named Fair View. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Howland Road, Battle Lane, Marden Road, A229 Station Road, A229 Maidstone Road, A229 Staplehurst Road, B2079 Maidstone Road, Howland Road and vice versa.

 

New Barn Road, Sutton Valence, ME17 3EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of New Barn Road, Sutton Valence, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lake Farm, for a distance approximately 180 metres in a North direction to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via New Barn Road, A274 Headcorn Road, A274 Maidstone Road, A274 Mill Bank, Moat Road, Summerhill, Four Oaks Road, Plumtree Road, Four Oaks Road, New Barn Road and vice versa.

 

Newnham Court Roundabout To Junction 7 Roundabout, Maidstone (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow highway repair and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Newnham Court Roundabout To M20 Junction 7 Roundabout, Maidstone on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed on the A249 northbound carriageway to M20 Junction 7, London Bound on Slip, between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 Monday to Friday nights only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lilac Cottage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Otham Street, Simmonds Lane, Honey Lane, New Road, A274 Sutton Road, Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road, Otham Lane, Green Hill, Otham Street and vice versa.

 

Salisbury Road, Maidstone, ME14 2SQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Salisbury Road, Maidstone, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Boxley Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic from Boxley Road is via Boxley Road, Curzon Road, Wheeler Street, and Salisbury Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic from Salisbury Road is via Salisbury Road, Wheeler Street, Grecian Street, and Boxley Road.

 

St Anns Green Lane, Marden, TN12 9AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Anns Green Lane, Marden, on or after 14th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ware Street, The Green, The Street, Water Lane, Pilgrims Way, Thurnham Lane and vice versa.

 

Various Roads, Weavering (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow a programme of highway improvements to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic and impose a 30 MPH speed limit on Various Roads, Weavering, on or after 18th October 2025 for up to 440 days or until the works have been completed.

The following restrictions will be imposed when they are indicated by signs and barriers on site.
