Dover, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

 

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its
powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

DOVER AREA

Boyes Lane, Goodnestone, CT3 1PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Boyes Lane, Goodnestone, on or after 28th October 2025 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Fitzwalters Meadow, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Boyes Lane, Saddlers Hill, Cave Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Bulwark Road, Deal, CT14 6NZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bulwark Road, Deal, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Dibdin Road to outside number 2, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bulwark Road, Sandown Road, Dibdin Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Church Street St Mary, Sandwich, CT13 9EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Street St Mary, Sandwich, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Vicarage Lane and Strand Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Vicarage Lane, Bowling Street, Strand Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Devonshire Road, Dover, CT17 0BY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Devonshire Road, Dover, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 33, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ellens Road, Deal (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ellens Road, Deal, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from outside The Firs to outside Hillcrest, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ellens Road, Station Road, Court Road, Salisbury Road, St Richards Road, Mongeham Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Forge Lane, Sutton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Forge Lane, Sutton, on or after 29th October 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Church Hill for approximately 100m in a Southerly direction, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Forge Lane, Vale Road, Wingleton Lane, Winklands Oaks Lane, Waterworks Hill and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Geddinge Lane, Dumbrill Hill & Shelvin Lane, Wootton (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Geddinge Lane, Dumbrill Hill & Shelvin Lane, Wootton, on or after 13th October 2025 for up to 61 days or until the works have been completed.

Closures will be imposed as a rolling closure. Once works are completed on one road works will commence on the next, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Geddinge Lane will be closed from outside Five Oaks to the junction of A2 Dover Road.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Geddinge Lane, Wooton Lane, Denton Lane, A260 The Street, A260 Canterbury Road, A2 Dover Road, A260 Box Iron Road, A2 Barham Slip Eastbound On and A2 Dover Road.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via A2 Dover Road, A2 Barham Westbound Slip Off, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 The Street, Denton Lane, Wooton Lane and Geddinge Lane.

Dumbrill Hill will be closed from the junction of A2 Dover Road for approximately 160m in a Southerly direction.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dumbrill Hill, Wooton Lane, Shelvin Lane, Shelvin Farm Road, Shelvin Lane, A2 Dover Road and vice versa.

Shelvin Lane will be closed between the junctions of A2 Dover Road and Side Hills.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Shelvin Lane, Shelvin Farm Road, Shelvin Lane, Wooton Lane, Dumbrill Hill, A2 Dover Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Hay Hill, Ham, CT14 0ED (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hay Hill, Ham, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 3 for approximately 120m in a Westerly direction, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hay Hill, Brook Street, Lower Street, Dover Road, A256 Whitfield By-pass From C237 Venson Road To Entry A256 Roundabout, A256 Eastry Bypass, Northbourne Road, Updown Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

King Street & Middle Street, Deal, CT14 6TR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of King Street & Middle Street, Deal, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

King Street will be closed between the junctions of High Street and Beach Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beach Street, The Marina, Godwyn Road, King Edward Road, College Road, High Street, King Street and vice versa.

Middle Street will be closed between the junctions of King Street and Market Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Middle Street, Market Street, High Street, King Street and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Napchester Road, Whitfield, CT16 3JP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Napchester Road, Whitfield, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Napchester Road, Sandwich Road, The Drove and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sea Street, St Margarets At Cliffe, CT15 6AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sea Street, St Margarets At Cliffe, on or after 27th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Old Chapel, between the hours of 21:30 and 05:30 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Stourmouth Road, Preston, CT3 1HP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Stourmouth Road, Preston, on or after 28th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 9, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Preston Lane, Preston Road, Preston Hill, A257 Gobery Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Ash Bypass, A256 Sandwich Bypass, A256 Ramsgate Road, A256 Richborough Way, A299 Hengist Way, A299 Canterbury Road West, A253 Canterbury Road, Gore Street, Plucks Gutter, The Street, Preston Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Westcourt Downs, Shepherdswell (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow brickwork repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Westcourt Downs, Shepherdswell, on or after 2nd November 2025 for up to 20 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 02:00 and 22:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Westcourt Downs, Westcourt Lane, Woolage Green Road, Firs Road, C201 Ruberries Wood Road From District Boundary To Nightingale Lane, Barfreston Road, Barfreston Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
