What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC145646271: The City of Manchester (Back Piccadilly & Bridgewater Place, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic & Suspension of One-way Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Back Piccadilly between Tib Street and Oldham Street and suspend the one-way on Bridgewater Place between Tib Street and Joiner Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Tib Street, Bridgewater Place, Joiner Street, Church Street, Dale Street, Oldham Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a new connection for the adjacent development. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 20th October 2025 to 27th October 2025.
The order shall come into operation on 20th October 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
