Railway Street, Wolverhampton - Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions

What is happening?

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 30th September 2025 Wolverhampton City Council made the following Order under Sections 1, 2, and 124(1)(d) and Part IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order which comes into operation on 10th October 2025 is as follows:

THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (CITY CENTRE)

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND STREET PARKING

PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO 1) ORDER 2025

This Order will prohibit any motor vehicle to:

(i) wait at any time on any day and to load and unload at any time on any day in parts of Railway Street (City Centre) and Chubb Street;

(ii) wait at any time on any day in the loading area unless such waiting is necessary to enable goods to be loaded on or unloaded from the vehicle in connection with adjoining trade or business premises in parts of Railway Street (City Centre); as specified on the Plan.

Existing Traffic Regulation Orders are hereby varied or revoked to the extent insofar as is necessary to facilitate the provisions of this Order.

A copy of the Order, Statement of Reasons and Plan showing the parts of the roads affected by the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at Main Reception, Civic Centre, St Peter's Square, Wolverhampton or viewed online

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant section of the Act or on the ground that any requirement of those sections of the Act or of Parts I to III and IV of Schedule 9 to the Act or any regulation under the said Part III has not been complied with may, within six weeks of 30th September 2025 make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
