What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(RICCARTON MAINS ROAD AREA) (TEMPORARY ROAD

RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/123

The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on any part of: (i) Riccarton Mains Rd (both sides) (1) from 13.3m south of the extended south kerbline of the unnamed private access rd leading to the Riccarton Garden Centre, northwards to the south kerbline of The Ave; and (2) from the south kerbline of Corslet Rd, northwards to 13.3m south of the extended south kerbline of the unnamed private access rd leading to the Riccarton Garden Centre; (ii) Baberton Rd (both sides) at Riccarton Mains Rd; (iii) Weavers Knowe Cres (both sides) at Riccarton Mains Rd; (iv) Corslet Rd (both sides) at Riccarton Mains Rd; (v) Christie Rd (both sides) at Riccarton Mains Rd; (vi) Unnamed Northern private access Rd leading to Electricity Distribution Site (both sides) at Riccarton Mains Rd; (vii) Unnamed Central private access Rd leading to Electricity Distribution Site (both sides) at Riccarton Mains Rd; and (viii) Unnamed Southern private access Rd leading to Electricity Distribution Site (both sides) at Riccarton Mains Rd; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of Riccarton Mains Rd: (i) from 13.3m south of the extended south kerbline of the unnamed private access rd leading to the Riccarton Garden Centre, northwards to the south kerbline of The Ave; and (ii) from 3.6m north of the extended south kerbline of Corslet Rd, northwards to 13.3m south of the extended south kerbline of the unnamed private access rd leading to the Riccarton Garden Centre. There is no available diversion with respect to the closures of (ii) Baberton Rd; (iii) Weavers Knowe Cres; (iv) Corslet Rd; (v) Christie Rd; (vi) Unnamed Northern private access Rd leading to the Electricity Distribution Site; (vii) Unnamed Central private access Rd leading to the Electricity Distribution Site; and (viii) Unnamed Southern private access Rd leading to the Electricity Distribution Site, where local access will be maintained. The alternative routes for through vehicular traffic in relation to the closures of: (i) Riccarton Mains Rd (1) & (2) (northbound) – Lanark Road West, Curriehill Rd, Calder Rd and Riccarton Mains Rd; and (1) & (2) (southbound) – Calder Rd, Curriehill Rd, Lanark Rd West and Riccarton Rd. The road closures of Riccarton Mains Rd (1) and Baberton Rd shall not be enacted at the same time as the road closures of Riccarton Mains Rd (2), Weavers Knowe Cres; Corslet Rd; Christie Rd; the Unnamed Northern private access Rd leading to the Electricity Distribution Site; the Unnamed

Central private access Rd leading to the Electricity Distribution Site; and the Unnamed Southern private access Rd leading to the Electricity Distribution Site. The waiting, loading and unloading restrictions on Riccarton Mains Rd (1) & (2) shall not be enacted at the same time. The Order shall have effect from 06/10/25 to 30/11/25.
