Water Lane, Stogursey, Somerset - Temporary closure due to water works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Water Lane 

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Water Lane - from 73 metres north of the junction with Burton Road, northwards for a total distance of 41 metres.
This Order will enable Wessex Water to carry out supply separation works. The Order becomes effective on 24th October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 27th October 2025 and last until 29th October 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 3 days.

Statement of Reasons for making the Order 
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
