What is happening?

(SALFORD ROAD, ASPLEY GUISE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Salford Road, Aspley Guise outside numbers 71 to 73.
This temporary closure is required to enable fire hydrant repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 20 to 22 October 2025.
The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Salford Road, Crabtree Lane, Cranfield Road, Station Road, Weathercock Lane, West Hill, Church Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(CLOPHILL ROAD, MAULDEN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Clophill Road, Maulden opposite 123.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be
maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 22 to 24 October 2025.
The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via A6, A507 and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 22 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(KILN LANE AND MILL LANE, CLOPHILL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Mill Lane, Clophill from The Strand to Kiln Lane and Kiln Lane, Clophill from Mill Lane to Hall.
This temporary closure is required to enable new water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on Kiln Lane, Clophill from 21 to 27 October 2025 between 8am and 6pm and Mill Lane, Clophill from 28 October to 3 November 2025 from 8am and 6pm.
The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Kiln Lane, Little Lane, High Street, Mill Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 21 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of How End Road, Houghton Conquest outside number 21.
This temporary closure is required to enable stop tap replacement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 10 October 2025.
The road will be closed at all times during this period.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
The Order will come into operation on 8 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Weathercock Lane, Aspley Guise outside number 86.
This temporary closure is required to enable excavation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to
property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 8 October 2025. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Russell Street, Station Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 6 October 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INSTALL
PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS ON PRITCHARD PLACE AND
TURVEY ROAD, HOUGHTON CONQUEST
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, proposes to establish two Parallel Crossings with controlled areas. These proposals are part of a wider package of highway improvements designed to support safe and sustainable travel options for residents of the new development. The crossings will enhance pedestrian and cyclist connectivity to existing infrastructure, improve road safety, and encourage active travel in line with local transport and planning objectives.
A Raised Parallel Crossing and associated controlled area is proposed to be sited at the following location in Houghton Conquest:-
Turvey Road - the centre point of the proposed crossing is located approximately 53 metres southeast of the roundabout junction with Ampthill Road.
The controlled area, marked by white zig-zag lines, is proposed to extend approximately 9 metres west and 15 metres east of the crossing, forming a single continuous restricted zone.
For reference, this Crossing is shown as Crossing 1 on the plan.
A Raised Parallel Crossing and associated controlled area is proposed at the following location in Houghton Conquest:
Pritchard Place – the centre point of the proposed crossing is located approximately 10 metres south of its junction with Turvey Road.
The controlled area, indicated by white zig-zag road markings, is proposed to extend approximately 6 metres to the north and 15 metres to the south of the crossing, forming a single continuous restricted zone.
For reference, this Crossing is shown as Crossing 2 on the plan.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO
INTRODUCE A DISABLED PARKING BAY ON
TOWNSHOTT, CLOPHILL
Reason for proposal: The disabled parking space would provide a dedicated place for blue badge holders to park.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following length of road in Clophill:-
1. Townshott Clophill, east side, from a point in line with the shared property boundary between No. 14 and No. 16 and extending in a southerly direction, covering an area approximately 6.6m metres in length and 2m metres in width.
