Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.10) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as the Local Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 44, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (‘the Act’) the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following order:-

The effect of the named Order will be to introduce or replace existing waiting restrictions double yellow lines (DYL) on the following lengths of roads in Folkestone, Folkestone and Hythe:-

CHERITON HIGH STREET – DYL – From a point 2.5 metres north west of the boundary with 213/215 Cheriton High Street for a distance of 42 metres in a north westerly direction.

MAIDSTONE AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, MAIDSTONE)
(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER
(AMENDMENT No.1) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby proposes to make an Order under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which would be to introduce a 40MPH speed limit in Nettlestead, Maidstone on the following length of road:-

MAIDSTONE ROAD – From a point 360 metres south of its junction with Gibbs Hill for a distance of 528 metres in a southerly direction.

(AMENDMENT No.22) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority, in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’), the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby proposes to make the following order:-

The effect of the Order is to implement double yellow lines (DYL) on the following lengths of roads in Maidstone:-

BUCKLAND ROAD – DYL - On the south west side remove the existing single yellow lines and parking bays and replace them with DYL from the northern boundary of 71 Buckland Road to a point in line with 4.5 metres south of its northern boundary with 49A Buckland Road. MANOR CLOSE –  BEARSTED – DYL - On both sides from its junction with Yeoman Lane for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction. THE LANDWAY – BEARSTED – DYL - (1) On the southeast side from the current School Keep Clear lines at the entrance of Roseacre Junior School for a distance of 10 metres in a northeasterly direction and 10 metres in a southwesterly direction. (2) On the northwest side from the southern boundary of 67 The Landway for a distance of 32 metres in a northerly direction. PUDDING LANE – On the east side outside Star House change the existing 24/7 Electric Taxi Recharging Point to 1 hour with no return within 2 hours. YEOMAN LANE – BEARSTED – DYL - From its junction with Manor Close on the east side for a distance of 10 metres in a northerly direction and 10 metres in a southerly direction.

THANET AREA

(WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER (AMENDMENT No.8) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act‘), the Traffic Management 2004 and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to make the following Order:-

The effect of the named Order will be to remove some double yellow lines waiting restrictions (in this part of the notice DYL means double yellow lines) – and replace with a zebra crossing on the following length of roads in Margate, Thanet:-

HARTSDOWN ROAD – (Remove DYL) – On the eastern side from the property boundary of 50/52 for a distance of 7 metres in a north westerly direction.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF TUNBRIDGE WELLS)
(VARIOUS TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER
(AMENDMENT No.1) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3, 4, 19, 65(1), 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) and the Traffic Management Act 2004, as amended and all other enabling powers, and having regard to Section 122 of the Act, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following order:-

The effect of this Order will be to revoke the Order of 2022 and this Bus Lane Order would be to allow Buses, Cycles and Taxis only during prescribed hours 9am till 6pm on the following length of roads in Tunbridge Wells:-

GROSVENOR ROAD – From its junction with Calverley Road to its junction with Goods Station Road in both directions. MONSON ROAD – From its junction with Monson Way to its junction with Mount Pleasant Road in both directions. MOUNT PLEASANT ROAD – (1) From its junction with Crescent Road to its junction with Monson Road in both directions. (2) From its junction with Newton Road to its junction with Calverley Road in both directions.

The Order was made on 9 October 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 10 October 2025.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.
