ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Lower Assendon, Various Roads Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 13 October 2025 Coming into force: 23 October 2025 This Order is being introduced because of excavation for fibre cabling works which are anticipated to be completed 30 October 2025. This will operate between 08:00 and 18:00hrs. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in sections of Broad Plat Lane 23 to 27 October; Rocky Lane 28 to 30 Oct. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Access will be maintained for cyclists and pedestrians. The alternative routes for traffic will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16426/AC)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Ardington, High Street Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 29 September 2025 Coming into force: 7 October 2025 This Order is being introduced because of Gigaclear fibre cabling works which are anticipated to be completed 13 October. This is a 24 hour daily road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of High Street (B4009) from its memorial to the side of the park. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via High Street, Church Street and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16309/AC)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Benson, Crown Lane Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 6 October 2025 Coming into force: 16 October 2025 This Order is being introduced because of installation of new sewer pipes which are anticipated to be completed 12 December 2025. This is a 24 hour road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the length of Crown Lane from a full closure at its junction of High Street/Brook Street. Works include junction of Watlington Road in multiple phases of closure running northwards. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Crown Square, Old London Road, St Helens Avenue, Church Road, High Street, Watlington Rd and vice versa. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Benson, High Street/Brook Street Area Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 26 August 2025 Coming into force: 6 October 2025 This Order is being introduced to enable the installation of 500m of new sewer pipe which is anticipated to be completed 29 October as a first phase and then until 18 December at Crown Lane and into Watlington Road. This is a 24 hour daily road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in High Street and Brook Street to Crown Lane. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Crown Square, Old London Road, St Helens Avenue, Church Road, High Street/Watlington Rd. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Abingdon, St Helens Wharf Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 20 October 2025 Coming into force: 27 October 2025 This Order is being introduced because of gas mains replacement works which are anticipated to be completed 21 November 2025. This is a 24 hour daily road closure. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of St Helens Wharf from junction of Wilsham Road to include No.4. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Caldecott Road – Drayton Road – Cot Street – Stratton Way – Stert Street – East St Helen Street – West St Helen Street. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Britwell Salome, Road running north from B4009 Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 29 September 2025 Coming into force: 6 October 2025 This Order is being introduced because of excavation for fibre cabling work which is anticipated to take 16 days to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in the road running north from the B4009 towards the church. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Watlington, Hill Road/Spring Lane Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 6 October 2025 Coming into force: 10 October 2025 This Order is being introduced because of carriageway resurfacing works which are anticipated to take 10 days to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in sections of Hill Road & Spring Lane. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. Traffic wishing to access Hill Road/Spring Lane will be diverted via Hill Road – B480 Watlington to Cuxham Road – turn along B480 Howe Road – turn back into Hill Road – turn back into Watlington to Christmas Common – turn back into Hill Road returning to Watlington, and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16029/MR)
Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Goring Heath (Whitchurch Hill) Lady Grove Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 29 September 2025 Coming into force: 6 October 2025 This Order is being introduced because of excavation for fibre cabling work which are anticipated to take 5 weeks to complete. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles proceeding in a section of Goring Heath (Whitchurch Hill) Lady Grove. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The diversion route will be signed locally. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
