What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE C537 BUCKS GREEN, BEDINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C537 Bucks Green, Bedingfield from 340 metres southwest of the junction with The Street for 91 metres south westbound to facilitate tree cutting. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be The Street, Bedingfield Road Bedingfield, Bedingfield Road Rishangles, the B1077 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 02/10/2025 - 03/10/2025 from 8am ñ 5pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A131 NEWTON ROAD THE B1508 CORNARD ROAD THE C755 GREAT EASTERN ROAD AND STATION ROAD, SUDBURY

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

* A131 Newton Road, Sudbury from Girling Street to Cornard Road

* B1508 Cornard Road, Sudbury from King Street to Ingrams Well Road

* C755 Great Eastern Road, Sudbury

* C755 Station Road, Sudbury from Great Eastern Road to Edgworth Road.

This is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be

For Newton Road and Cornard Road - A131, the B1115, the A131, the A134, the B1508 and vice versa.

For Great Eastern Road and Station Road - Station Road, the A131 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

11/10/2025 - 13/10/2025 from 8pm - 5am

18/10/2025 - 20/10/2025 from 8pm - 5am

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF

THE A1120 FRAMSDEN ROAD, PETTAUGH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A1120 Framsden Road, Pettaugh from 210 metres southwest of New Road for 310 metres south westbound to facilitate overhead cabling works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A140, the A14, the A12 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 11/10/2025 - 12/10/2025 from 10am - 3pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (PARISH OF LAVENHAM)

(FOOTPATH 26) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

This order, which came into effect on 05/06/2025 closing Footpath 26, Lavenham from 2 metres south of Bridge Street for 41 metres south eastbound has been extended in force by the Minister until 26 December 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is the earlier.

This closure remains required due to safety reasons from an uneven and sloping surface. Without extension the order would have been in effect until 26/12/2025.

There will be no alternative route.

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF BABERGH)

(STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES)

(MAP-BASED) ORDER 2019 (PARISH OF SUDBURY (UPPER EAST STREET) (U8703) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (VARIATION NO.31) ORDER 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 0 of Map Tile GT67, in place of revision 1 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 Order. The effect of this would be to introduce:

‘No waiting at any time’ on:

    • South side of Upper East Street (U8703), Sudbury, from the corner of No. 11 Upper East Street, in a south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 8m

    • North side of Upper East Street (U8703), Sudbury, from the corner of No. 11 Upper East Street, in a south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 12m

    • South side of Upper East Street (U8703), Sudbury, from the corner of No. 13 Upper East Street, in a north-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 1m

  • North side of Upper East Street (U8703), Sudbury, from the corner of No. 13 Upper East Street, in a north-westerly direction for a distance of approximately 7m

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.

Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the Council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Sudbury Library, Market Hill CO10 2EN between Monday: 9am - 5pm, Tuesday: 9am - 7.30pm, Wednesday: 9am - 5pm, Thursday: 9am - 5pm, Friday: 9am - 5pm, Saturday: 9am - 5pm and Sunday: 10am - 4pm.

Objections and any other representations relating to these proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must reach Jacob Davis (Suffolk County Council Legal Services) at the address below or at: jacob.davis@suffolk.gov.uk no later than 22/10/2025. Please note that any such correspondence cannot be regarded as confidential and may be inspected by any interested party.
