What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6316 EAST BARTON ROAD AND THE U6318 GREEN LANE, GREAT BARTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

  1. U6316 East Barton Road, Great Barton from the junction with The Street to Shrub End
  2. U6318 Green Lane, Great Barton from the junction with East Barton Road for 211 metres westbound

This is to facilitate fibre installation works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion routes will be:

  1. East Barton Road, Thurston Road, Barton Road, Thurston Road, Ixworth Road, The Street and vice versa
  2. Thurston Road, Ixworth Road, The Street, East Barton Road, The Street, Church Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from 01/10/2025 - 21/10/2025 2. 22/10/2025 - 11/11/2025.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A140 NORWICH ROAD, MENDLESHAM AND STONHAM PARVA

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads: • A140 Norwich Road, Mendlesham from Town Lane to Norwich Road, Stonham Parva • A140 Norwich Road, Stonham Parva from Norwich Road, Mendlesham to Debenham Road.

This is to facilitate resurfacing, lining and signing works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be the A140, the A14, the A134, the A143, the A140 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/10/2025 - 13/10/2025 from 8pm - 5am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to The Palmer Group. Tel: (01473) 834960.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C612 HERRINGSWELL ROAD, KENTFORD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C612 Herringswell Road, Kentford from 740 metres north of Burley Road for 200 metres northbound to facilitate drainage works and carriageway repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be Herringswell Road, the B1506, the B1085, Dane Hill Road, Herringswell Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/10/2025 - 05/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to ABC Telecoms Limited. Tel: 07498 904219.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U6421 LOGGERS LANE, THELNETHAM

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U6421 Loggers Lane, Thelnetham from 30 metres southbound to facilitate pole testing and tree cutting. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be Fen Lane, Mill Road, Hopton Road, Loggers Lane and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 10/10/2025 - but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Sunbelt Rentals. Tel: 0370 050 0792.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5090 SIR ALF RAMSEY WAY, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the U5090 Sir Alf Ramsey Way, Ipswich from Constantine Road to Portman Road to facilitate cleaning football stands. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be Portman Road, Handford Road, London Road, West End Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/10/2025 - 10/10/2025 from 7.30am - 5pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Highway Safety Management. Tel: (01473) 554835.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U4410 VALLEY ROAD, LITTLE BLAKENHAM AND NETTLESTEAD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4410 Valley Road, Little Blakenham from Nettlestead Road to Leather Bottle Hill and the U4410 Valley Road, Nettlestead from Nettlestead Road for 200 metres westbound to facilitate the installation of fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be Valley Road, Hall Lane, Main Road, Somersham Road, Leather Bottle Hill and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 01/10/2025 - 14/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to ABC Telecoms Limited. Tel: 07498 904219.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U3704 MILL LANE, BLTLEY

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3704 Mill Lane, Bltley from the junction with the B1084 to Burley Mills Studios to facilitate grass cutting. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be The Street, Orford Road, the B1084 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 01/10/2025 from 8am - 6pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Chevron Traffic Management. Tel: (01983) 551017.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE B1079 MARKET HILL, WOODBRIDGE

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the B1079 Market Hill, Woodbridge from the junction with Theatre Street to the junction with Seckford Street to facilitate sewer works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. The diversion route will be Theatre Street, Church Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 09/10/2025 from 10am - 3pm. If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister). Enquiries should be made to Public Sewer Services Limited. Tel: (01449) 678932.
