What is happening?
SHROPSHIRE COUNCIL
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –
PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted
horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
The Order/s came into force on 6 th October 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling at more than 30mph on
the A488 between Hope and Gravelsbank
Date & Duration: 6th October 2025 between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Temporary speed restriction Speed Reduction from 60mph to 40mph to
30mph through site
Alternative Route : Not applicable
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road from
Nobold to South of Pulverbatch
Date & Duration: 8th October 2025 for 7 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South West, A489, A488, B4380, Longden Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Ellesmere Road, Tetchill
Date & Duration: 10th October 2025 between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Pole testing
Alternative Route : Ellesmere Road, A495, A528, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed
road North, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Gravenhunger Lane,
Woore
Date & Duration: 10th October 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Replace 1 decayed pole
Alternative Route : A53, A525
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Kilnbank Road, Market
Drayton
Date & Duration: 6th October 2025 for 29 days
Purpose: Road closure - Gas Mains Replacement Scheme.
Alternative Route : Shrewsbury Road, Dalelands Estate
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Mile Bank Road,
Whitchurch
Date & Duration: 7th October 2025 between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road closure - Provide safe working area for engineer.
Alternative Route : Mile Bank Road, B5395 London Road, B5476, A49, Common Lane,
Hollins Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Park Lane, Craven Arms
Date & Duration: 7th October 2025 from 23:00 to 06:00 8th October 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail -Detailed Examination of Underbridge using
ladders & Road Mounted MEWP
Alternative Route : B4368, Unnamed road South East towards Rowton, Unnamed road
North
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Park Lane, Shifnal
Date & Duration: 10th October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 decayed wooden
BT pole
Alternative Route : Park Lane, Wolverhampton Road, Upton Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Police
House to St Chad’s House, Nescliffe
Date & Duration: 6th October 2025 for 3 days between 09:30 to 14:45
Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Station Road, Albrighton
Date & Duration: 6th October 2025 for 12 days between 09:30 to 16:00
Purpose: Capital resurfacing scheme
Alternative Route : A41, Kingswood Road, High Street
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road,
LLanfairwaterdine
Date & Duration: 6th October 2025 for 5 days between 08:00 to 17:00
Purpose: Carriageway resurfacing
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, B4355, Unnamed road North, Unnamed
road North West through Llanfair Waterdine
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Swan Street, Broseley
Date & Duration: 8th October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 decayed wooden

Alternative Route : High Street, Harriss Green, Woodhouse Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Underdale Road,
Shrewsbury. No entry adjacent to Trafalgar Place will be suspended to allow access
Date & Duration: 8th October 2025 from 23:00 to 06:00 9th October 2025
Purpose: Road Closure - Network Rail, detailed examination of underbridge using
ladders and road mounted MWEP
Alternative Route : Tankerville Street, Monkmoor Road, Abbey Foregate
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between
Abcott and B4365
Date & Duration: 8th October 2025 from 23:00 to 06:00 9th October 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail-Detailed Examination of Underbridge using
ladders & Road Mounted MEWP
Alternative Route : B4367, B4385, Unnamed road East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between
Brockton and B4379
Date & Duration: 6th October 2025 for 4 days
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-18m trenching in tarmac road and grass
verge for new supply

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between
Colebatch and Cefn Einion
Date & Duration: 7th October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 2 decayed wooden

Wilcott and Kynaston, Wilcott
Date Duration: 11th October 2025 for 7 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Scottish Power, road crossing required to install new
cable for network upgrade for properties.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road East, B4396, A5, Unnamed
road South West, Unnamed road North West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road, Ightfield
Heath
Date & Duration: 10th October 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:00
Purpose: Road Closure - MJ Quinn are to replace 1 decayed wooden BT pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road North towards Ightfield, Platinum Jubilee Pathway,
Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road North East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Weston Road, Bucknell
Date & Duration: 6th October 2025 for 2 nights between 21:00 to 07:00
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail-De-veg and pointing using roped access
tethered to vehicles
Alternative Route : Weston Road, A4113, B4367
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Oakwood Road, Cleobury
North
Date & Duration: 7th October 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to complete tree cutting and
replace 1 decayed wooden BT pole
Alternative Route : B4364, Beaconhill Lane, Brown Clee road, Station road, South road, Oakwood road
