NOTICE OF MAKING A SPECIAL DIVERSION ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 119B

BOURNEMOUTH CHRISTCHURCH AND POOLE COUNCIL PUBLIC FOOTPATH 29 – CANFORD SCHOOL

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER

SPECIAL DIVERSION ORDER FOR CERTAIN HIGHWAYS WHICH CROSS LAND OCCUPIED FOR THE PURPOSES OF A SCHOOL

The above Order was made on 25 September 2025 under Section 119B of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order, if confirmed without modifications, will be to divert part of public footpath 29:

From: a point on Canford Magna (SZ 03215 98207), then following in an eastern direction to meet a gate and continuing east by Knighton Cottages to Knighton Lane for a total distance of approximately 2007m (SZ 04977 97650).

To: a point on Canford Magna (SZ 03215 98207), following the southern perimeter of the school grounds from SZ 03211 98048, then leading north east through a wooded section to SZ 03932 98188 and continuing east along a track to its terminus on Knighton Lane (SZ 04977 97650) for a total distance of 2332m.

Any representations about or objections to the order should be directed to Rights of Way at BCP Council Civic Centre, Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, BH2 6DY or rightsofway@bcpcouncil.gov.uk not later than 30th October 2025.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, BCP Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
