What is happening?

ROTHERHAM METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

DRUMMOND STREET SERVICE ROAD AND HENRY STREET ROTHERHAM TOWN CENTRE

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the two roads specified in the Schedule to this notice from Wednesday  15th October 2025 until Thursday 15th April 2027.

The reason for the prohibitions is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the roads (Security hoarding around construction site).

SCHEDULE

(i)    Drummond Street service road from its junction with Eastwood Lane to its junction with A6021 Drummond Street (the alternative route will be via A6021 Drummond Street).

(ii)   Henry Street from its junction with A6021 Drummond Street to the end of the cul de sac (there is no alternative route, the road is a cul de sac).

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

PART OF HOOBER HALL LANE WENTWORTH ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Hoober Hall Lane from a point approximately 800m southwest of its junction with Packman Road for a distance of approximately 150m in a westerly direction on Wednesday 15th October 2025.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order will be via Packman Road, Rotherham Road, Elsecar Road, Coaley Lane and vice versa.

The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (power line maintenance).

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

PART OF REDSCOPE ROAD KIMBERWORTH PARK ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Redscope Road between property no.13 and property no.15 Redscope Road from Monday 13th October until Friday 17th October 2025.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative route will be via Hungerhill Road, Redscope Road and vice versa.

The reason for the prohibition is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Repairs to electrical apparatus).

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) AND 14(7)

GRANGE LANE THORPE HESLEY AND DROPPINGWELL ROAD KIMBERWORTH ROTHERHAM

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC AND TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT LIMIT RESTRICTION)

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council intends (not less than seven days from the date of this Notice) to make an Order the effect of which will be to:-

1.     Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that part of Grange Lane from a point approximately 350m south if its junction with A629 Upper Wortley Rd for a distance of approximately 100m in a southerly direction from Friday 17th October until Tuesday  21st October 2025.

NOTICE is further given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order will be via Upper Wortley Road, Droppingwell Road, New Droppingwell Road, Grange Mill Lane and vice versa.

2.     Temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight limit restriction along Droppingwell Road to allow vehicles diverted off Grange Lane from Friday 17th October until Tuesday 21st October 2025. The reason for the prohibition and temporary suspension of 7.5 tonne weight limit restriction is because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road (Works to telecommunications apparatus).

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2004 (AMENDMENT NO. 84) ORDER 2025

20 miles per hour speed limit restriction Maltby Model Village Rotherham

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council acting in its capacity as traffic authority for the Borough of Rotherham has made the above-mentioned Order on the 22nd September 2025 which comes into effect on the 6th October 2025. Notice of the proposal for making the Order was published in the Rotherham Advertiser on the 25th January 2024. The Order shall impose changes to the speed limit affecting the roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

In relation to Schedule No.2 thereto, Speed Restricted Roads 20mph there were inserted the following items:(cccxxi)

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended or that a requirement of that Act or of any relevant regulations made there under has not been complied with in any way, may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

NOTICE is hereby given that Rotherham Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be to impose changes to the speed limit affecting the road specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

A copy of the proposed Order, a map relating to it and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Rotherham Borough Council, Riverside House, Main Street, Rotherham S60 1AE. Objections to the proposed Order and other representations relating to it can be sent to the undersigned at the address given below (quoting reference NF/82664, e-mail Legal-TRO@ rotherham.gov.uk) and must be received by the undersigned not later than 31st October 2025. All objections and other representations must be made in writing, and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
