What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(NEW LANE, UPTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 298) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for carriageway resurfacing to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: New Lane, Upton from Common Lane to Doncaster Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of New Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Wagon Lane, Wrangbrook Road, Sheepwalk Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 5th October 2025 to 12th October 2025 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(WATER LANE, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 299) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to install new electric service connection to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Water Lane, Pontefract for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Water Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Water Lane, Bondgate, Box Lane, Ferrybridge Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 6th October 2025 to 14th October 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(JIN WHIN HILL, FOOTPATH 50, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 300) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for the undertaking of heavy civils construction works to Whitwood Mere outlet pipe below flood embankment to be carried out on or near Jin Whin Hill, Footpath 50, Castleford, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians: Riverside Way, Riverside View, Park Way, Grove Street, Cinder Lane, Methley Road, Jin Whin Hill, Leeds Road & vice versa.

The order comes into operation on 6th October 2025 to 19th December 2025.

(THE MEADOWS, SOUTH ELMSALL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 313) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame & cover to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: The Meadows, South Elmsall for approximately 40 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of The Meadows.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 23rd October 2025 between 09.30 hours and 14.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(HOLMFIELD LANE, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 315) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for installation of telecoms duct to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Holmfield Lane, Knottingley. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Holmfield Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion, access to be maintained.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 18th October 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(PHILIPS LANE, DARRINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 322) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame & cover to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Philips Lane, Darrington outside the old school. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Philips Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: None. Access to be maintained.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 22nd October 2025 between 19.00 hours and 23.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
