What is happening?

WEST NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY FP3 (PART) – YELVERTOFT)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that West Northamptonshire Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians, equestrians and cyclists from proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway FP3 (Part) in 
Yelvertoft as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent
to the said length of bridleway are unaffected.
RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: That part of bridleway
FP3 to be closed commences off the A5 Watling Street at point A on the
Order Map at National Grid Reference (‘NGR’) SP5627 7437. The route
proceeds north east for 1005 metres to terminate on the western side of the M1 motorway at point B at NGR SP5721 7475. The route to be closed is shown on the order map by a solid black line between points A-B.
REASONS FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety during the construction of the bridge extension works
on Shenley Drive.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: The Order will come into effect on 21st October 2025 and will continue in force for a period of six months. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route commences at point B at NGR
SP5721 7475, west of the M1 motorway. The route then proceeds generally west of north running parallel to the motorway for 1533 metres to point C at NGR SP5679 7620. The route then turns and proceeds generally north-west for 760 metres to terminate at point D at NGR SP5610 7641 at the junction with Hillmorton Lane, south of Lilbourne.
The alternative route is shown on the order map by a broken black lines
between points B-C-D.
