Wigmore Lane, West Bromwich, Graingers Lane, Northgate and Station Street, Cradley Heath, Europa Avenue, West Bromwich - Temporary Road Closure and Cycle Lane Closure
What is happening?
SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Wigmore Lane, West Bromwich) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Wigmore Lane, which will be closed from the junction of Ray Hall Lane for 45 metres in a south-westerly direction to the junction of Newton Road. Access to affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Ray Hall Lane & Newton Road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 31/10/2025 effective from 13/10/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to install a duct run for a new 132KV electrical service cable by Excalon on behalf of National Grid Electricity Distribution.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Graingers Lane, Northgate and Station Street, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Graingers Lane, which will be closed from the entrance (south-east side) to Simms & Barrett Emporium, for 70 metres in a south-easterly direction & Station Street/ Northgate at their perspective junctions with Graingers Lane. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route for the Graingers Lane closure will be signed via High Street, Corngreaves Road & vice versa. A traffic diversion route for the Station Street closure will be signed via Cradley Road. A traffic diversion route for the Northgate closure will be signed via Cokeland Place, Woodfield Avenue & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 11/10/2025 (6pm) effective from 10/10/2025 (8am). Purpose – to facilitate access for the installation of a raised road table top by Bridge Construction Ltd on behalf of Sandwell MBC.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Europa Avenue, West Bromwich) (Temporary Cycle Lane Closure) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit cycles from proceeding along Europa Avenue, which will be closed from its junction with Beeches Road for approximately 50 metres. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will not be signed for the Europa Avenue cycleway closure; cyclists are to dismount and use the footway. In addition, there will be temporary 3-way traffic signals in operation on Europa Avenue & Beeches Road for the duration of the Europa Avenue road closure. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 15/10/2025 effective from 13/10/2025 (8am - 6pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for maintenance works by MJ Quinn.
