Suffolk, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: Section 14 -

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U6023 The Street, Holywell Row

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U6023 The Street, Holywell Row from 110 metres south east of Laurel Close for 35 metres south eastbound to facilitate water pump maintenance works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A1101, Mildenhall Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 30/09/2025 from 9:30am – 3:00pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U7427 Shimpling Road, Hartest

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U7427 Shimpling Road, Hartest from Elizels Cottage for 30 metres north westbound to facilitate water meter maintenance. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Stanstead Road, Shimpling Road Stanstead, Upper Street, The Green, The Hill, the B1066 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 30/09/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure And Suspension Of One-Way Traffic On Part Of The U7105 Malting End, U7106 Road From 7107 To 7105, C659 Church Road, The Duddery, U7062 Wash Lane And U7061 Cloak Lane, Wickhambrook

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads in the following phases:

1. U7T05 Malting End, Wickhambrook from the junction with the B1063 to the Road from 7107 to 7105

U7106 Road from 7107 to 7105, Wickhambrook from Malting End to outside Little Monks Farm.

2. C659 Church Road, Wickhambrook from the A143 to The Duddery.

C659 The Duddery, Wickhambrook from Church Road to outside Rolfes Farm.

3. U7062 Wash Lane, Wickhambrook.

4. U7061 Cloak Lane, Wickhambrook.

This is to facilitate installing fibre network. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

1. Southbound: Road from 7107 to 7105, Farley Green, Mill Lane, the A143, the B1063 and vice versa.

Northbound: the B1063, Thorns Corner, Mole Hill, Attleton Green and vice versa.

2. the A143, the B1063, Cemetery Road, Coltsfoot Green and vice versa.

3. Church Road, Cloak Lane, the B1063 and vice versa.

4. Church Road, the A143, the B1063 and vice versa.

For the duration of phase 3 of this closure there will also be a suspension of the one-way provision on the U7062 Wash Lane, Wickhambrook to allow access and egress.

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

1. 30/09/2025 - 20/10/2025

2. 21/10/2025 - 03/11/2025

3. 04/11/2025 - 12/11/2025

4. 13/11/2025 - 26/11/2025.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C660 The Green, Bury Road And Barrow Road, Barrow, Great Saxham And Little Saxham

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

C660 The Green, Barrow

C660 Bury Road, Barrow

C660 Barrow Road, Great Saxham

C660 Bury Road, Little Saxham from Barrow Road, Great Saxham to Honey Hill, Little Saxham.

This is to facilitate surface dressing. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Bury Road, Hargrave Road Little Saxham, Chevington Road, North Hill Great Saxham, Birds End, Barrow Road Hargrave, Barrow Hill, The Green

Barrow and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/10/2025 -13/10/2025 from 7:00pm to 5:00am but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The C218 Cratfield Road, Cookley

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C218 Craffield Road, Cookley from 179 metres north of Oak Green for 230 metres northbound to facilitate a telegraph pole replacement. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Cratfield Road, Walpole Road, the B1117, Low Road, Laxfield Road, Linsfead Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 09/10/2025 - 10/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure And Suspension Of One-Way Traffic On Part Of The A1022 College Street, Key Street, Foundation Street, The A1047 Foundry Lane And The A1033 Lower Orwell Street, Ipswich

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

the A1022 College Street, Ipswich

the A1022 Key Street, Ipswich from College Street to Slade Street

the A1022 Foundation Street, Ipswich from Star Lane to College Street

the U1047 Foundry Lane, Ipswich

the U1033 Lower Orwell Street, Ipswich from Star Lane to Key Street.

This is to facilitate the installation of new ducting, carriageway resurfacing and new road markings. Other co-ordinated works may also fake place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Slade Street, Waterworks Street, Bond Street, St Margarets Street, Crown Street, St Matthews Street, Civic Drive, Franciscan Way, Greyfriars Road and no vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will also be a temporary suspension of one-way traffic on the A1022 Key Street, Ipswich to allow access and egress. It is intended that these measures will operate from:

7:00pm on 30/09/2025 – 5:00am on 02/10/2025

7:00pm on 20/11/2025 – 5:00am on 21/11/2025

7:00pm on 26/11/2025 – 5:00am on 27/11/2025

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The A134 Colchester Road, Assington

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the A134 Colchester Road, Assington from 380 metres northwest of Stoke Road for 30 metres north westbound to facilitate a new water connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A134, the A133, the A1124, the A131 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 7:00pm on 09/10/2025 – 5:00am on 10/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Temporary Closure Of Part Of The U3625 Drybridge Hill, Woodbridge

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U3625 Drybridge Hill, Woodbridge from the junction with Bridgewood Road for 47 metres south westbound to facilitate the installation, replacement, removal and disconnection of underground electrical service cables. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Seckford Street, the B1079, the A12, the B1438, Old Barrack Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 30/09/2025 - 03/10/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (DISTRICT OF MID SUFFOLK)

(Stopping, Waiting And Loading Prohibitions And Restrictions And On-Street Parking Places) - (Map-Based) Order 2019 (Parish Of Great Bricett) (Various Roads) (Prohibition Of Waiting) (Variation N0.30) Order 202-

Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order unto Sections 1(1) and (2) 2 (1) to (3), 4(2) and Part 1V of schedule 9 of the road traffic regulation act 1984 as amended, which would incorporate revision 0 of Map Tile FP97 into the above-named 2019 order.

The effect of this would be to introduce: 'No waiting at any time' on:

South side of Roman Road (C447), Great Bricett, from a point 30m east of the junction with The Street, west for a total distance of 58m.

Both sides of The Street (C447), Great Bricett, from the junction with Roman Road, South East for a distance of 58m.

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for Blue Badge holders.

Copies of the draft order, map showing the roads affected and the Council's reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday; also at Needham Market Library, 4 Teachers Close, Needham Market, IP6 8BW, on Tuesday between 10:00am – 1:00pm and 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Wednesday 2:00pm – 7:00pm. Thursday 10:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Friday 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Saturday 10:00am – 1:00pm and 2:00pm – 5:00pm, and Sunday 11:00am – 4:00pm.
