Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
AYLSHAM – C494 Buxton Road from its junction with Long Lane to its junction with Back Lane to facilitate carriageway patching works from 6th to 7th October 2025 (may continue until 18th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Buxton Road, A140 Aylsham Bypass/Norwich Road/Cromer Road, B1354 Waterloo Road/Old Church Road, Coltishall Road, Aylsham Road (Brampton, Marsham, Horstead with Stanninghall, Frettenham, Hevingham, Buxton with Lamas, Stratton Strawless, Aylsham, Hainford). BLANKENEY – Westgate Street from 75m north of its junction with A149 New Road for 40m northwards to facilitate new water connection works from 6th to 8th October 2025 (may continue until 19th November 2025). BODHAM – C528 The Street from 201m south-east of its junction with U14314 Hart Lane for 150m south-eastwards to facilitate telegraph pole test between 15:30 and 23:59 on 10th October 2025 (may continue until 21st November 2025). Alternative route is via: C528 The Street, C528 Church Road, C528 Kelling Palace Road, C308 Mill Road, C623 Red Barn Lane, C623 Gibbet Lane, A148 Holt Road, A148 Cromer Road, East Beckham, Gresham, Upper Sheringham, West Beckham, Bodham). BUXTON WITH LAMAS – C246 Lion Road from its junction with C494 Aylsham Road to its junction with C264 Cawston Road to facilitate drainage works from 8th to 24th October 2025 (may continue until 5th December 2025). Alternative route is via: C494 Aylsham Road, C264 Cawston Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
CAWSTON & OULTON – Oulton Street/The Street from its junction with B1149 Holt Road for 1200m north-eastwards to facilitate the safe travelling to/from the site compound by large numbers of HGVs and LGVs, in line with the Development Consent Order for Hornsea 3 onshore cable works, the Road will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 4th October 2025 to 24th November 2026 (may continue until 3rd April 2027). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Orsted Hornsea Project Three (Uk) Limited. The Norfolk County Council (Cawston and Oulton) (NTRO5978) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2023 will be revoked from the date this Order is in effect (in force).
CAWSTON – 1) B1145 Cawston Road/High Street/Aylsham Road from 50m west of its junction with Heydon Road to 30m west of its junction with Old Friendship Lane; 2) Booton Road from its junction with the B1145 for 20m south-westwards; 3) Chapel Street from its junction with B1145 Aylsham Road for 90m northwards; 4) Fairfields for its entire length; 5) Stokes Loke for its entire length; 6) Clifford Pye Close for its entire length; 7) Aylsham Road Service Road for its entire length; 8) Gayford Road for its entire length; 9) Marshall Howard Close for its entire length; 10) Howards Way for its entire length; 11) Norwich Road from its junction with Aylsham road to its junction with New Street; 12) New Street from its junction with B1145 Aylsham Road for 10m south-westwards; 13) B1145 Cawston Road from 150m west of its junction with Heydon Road for 80m westwards; and 14) Heydon Road from its junction with B1145 Aylsham Road for 10m northwards to facilitate works connected to the offshore wind farm project. The roads 1-12 and the Road 14 will be temporarily subject to a 20mph speed restriction, and the road 13 will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 4th October 2025 to 19th March 2027 (may continue until 3rd April 2027). CROMER – Chapel Street from its junction with A149 Church Street to its junction with A149 Louden Road to facilitate water meter exchange on 6th October 2025 (may continue until 17th November 2025). Alternative route is via: A149 Church Street/Mount Street/Louden Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
FILBY – C449 Thrigby Road from 590m southwest of its junction with A1064 Main Road for 670m south-westwards to facilitate pole testing works on 6th October 2025 (may continue until 17th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Thrigby Road, A1064 Main Road, Mautby Lane, The Street, Runham Road, Mill Road, Filby Road, Stokesby Road, Thrigby Road (Filby, Mautby, Stokesby with Herringby). The works promoter is Openreach.
GREAT AND LITTLE PLUMSTEAD – C258 Hare Road from its junction with Broad Lane to its junction with Church Road to facilitate new drainage and duct/rail installation works from 6th October 2025 to 12th December 2025 (may continue until 12th May 2026). Alternative route is via: Broad Lane, Reeves Corner, Plumstead Road, Green Lane North, Middle Road (Thorpe St. Andrew, Great and Little Plumstead). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: These works will be carried out in 2 phases. Phase 1 will be carried out from 6th to 10th October. Phase 2 will be carried out from 3rd November to 12th December.
GREAT YARMOUTH – South Quay from its junction with Friars Lane for 520m northwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works from 6th to 10th October 2025 (may continue until 21st November 2025). Alternative route is via: South Quay, Hall Quay, Haven Bridge, Bridge Road, Pasteur Road, Thamesfield Way, A47 Gorleston On Sea from A1243 to A143 S, Western Bypass, A47 Gorleston On Sea from A143 to A1243 including Roundabout, William Adams Way, Herring Bridge, South Denes Road, Southgates Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
GREAT YARMOUTH – 1) Regent Street from its junction with Howard Street South to its junction with King Street (direction of travel is west to east) and 2) King Street from its junction with Regent Street to its junction with Howard Street (direction of travel is north to south) and 3) Regent Road from its junction with King Street to its junction with South Market Road (direction of travel is west to east) and 4) Regent Boulevard from its junction with Regent Road to its junction with South Market Road (direction of travel is south to north) and 5) King Street from its junction with Regent Road to its junction with Alexandra Road (direction of travel is south to north) and 6) Deneside from its junction with with Regent Road to its junction with Alexandra Road (direction of travel is north to south) owing to the safety of traffic using the current road network. The Roads A-F will be temporarily subject to a 20mph speed restriction and restricted so that they may only travel in one direction as specified above from 8th October 2025 to 31st March 2026 (previously 17th September to 7th October 2025) (may continue until 7th April 2027). HOLT – Mill Street from 30m east of its junction with Albert Street for 30m to facilitate new water connection works from 6th to 8th October 2025 (may continue until 19th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Mill Street, Albert Street. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
HONINGHAM – Blind Lane from its junction with the A47 to its junction with Red Barn Lane to facilitate National Highways improvement works from 4th October 2025 to 10th March 2027 may continue until 3rd April 2027). Alternative route is via: A47, Church Lane, Berrys Lane (Honingham, Easton). The works promoter is National Highways. The Norfolk County Council (Honingham) (NTRO6425) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2023 will be revoked from the date this Order is in effect (in force).
KELLING – U14324 The Street from 1742m southwest its junction with A149 Weybourne Road for 460m south westwards to facilitate electrical pole works from 10th to 11th October 2025 (may continue until 22nd November 2025). Alternative route is via: The Street, Salthouse Road, Wood Lane, Bloomstile Lane, Cley Road, Holt Road (Kelling, Salthouse, Cley Next the Sea). The works promoter is UK Power Networks.
KETTLESTONE – C332 The Street from its junction with Orchard Close for 200m south westwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works between 09:00 and 15:00 on 8th October 2025 (may continue until 19th November 2025). Alternative route is via: C332 The Street, C331 Little Snoring Road, A148 Holt Road, C317 Snoring Road (Little Snoring, Kettlestone). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NORTH WALSHAM – C502 New Road from 80m west of its junction with U10337 Pound Road for 50m westwards to facilitate carriageway defect rectification works from 4th to 5th October 2025 (may continue until 16th November 2025). Alternative route is via: New Road, Yarmouth Road, Grammar School Road, Norwich Road, A149 North Walsham Bypass, B1145 North Walsham Bypass, Lyngate Road, Mundesley Road, Crow Road, Bacton Road, Bluebell Road, Marshgate, Pound Road. PASTON – Pond Road from its junction with C634 Mundesley Road for 30m eastwards to facilitate cover, chamber and frame replacement works from 7th to 9th October 2025 (may continue until the 20th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Pond Road, Bears Road, Chapel Road, C634 Mundesley Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
ROUGHTON – Pond Road from its junction with C634 Mundesley Road for 30m eastwards to facilitate cover, chamber and frame replacement works from 7th to 9th October 2025 (may continue until the 20th November 2025). ROUGHTON – C304 Metton Road from its junction with B1436 Felbrigg Road for 380m north westwards to facilitate tree cutting works and tree cutting works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 7th October 2025 (may continue until 18th November 2025). Alternative route is via: B1436 Felbrigg Road, B1436 Roughton Road, C303 Metton Road, C304 Metton Road. (Sustead, Felbrigg, Roughton). The works promoter is BT.
SHERINGHAM – 1) High Street from its junction with Gun Street for 35m northwards and 2) Gun Street from its junction with High Street to its junction with Lifeboat Plain and 3) Lifeboat Plain from its junction with East Cliff to its junction with Gun Street and 4) East Cliff from its junction with High Street to its junction with Lifeboat Plain and 5) High Street from its junction with East Cliff for 35m southwards to facilitate fibre blockage clearing works. The road 1) will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and the road 2) shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (westbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both a westerly and easterly direction and the road 3) shall be temporarily subject to the suspension on the one-way system (southbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both a southerly and northerly direction and the road 4) shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (eastbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both a easterly and westerly direction and the road 5) shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (northbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both a northerly and southerly direction from 6th to 7th October 2025 (may continue until the 18th November 2025). SHERINGHAM – 1) U1145 Station Road from 40m northeast of its junction with U11023 Melbourne Road for 95m north eastwards and 2) U1145 Station Road from its junction with U10513 Station Approach to its junction with U1145 High Street and 3) U11445 High Street from 10m north east to its junction with U11445 Station Road for 15m north eastwards to facilitate fibre blockage clearing works, the road 1) will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and road 2) shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (northeast bound) to allow vehicles to travel in both a northerly and south westerly direction and traffic (constituting any class of vehicle except taxi) shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload and traffic (constituting any class of vehicle except taxi) on the road 3) will be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload between 19:00 and 06:00 from 8th to 10th October 2025 (may continue until 21st November 2025). SUSTEAD – C303 Cromer Road from its junction with U14263 Felbrigg Road to its junction with U14325 Metton Road to facilitate pole testing and cabling works on 8th October 2025 (may continue until 19th November 2025). SWANTON NOVERS – C407 Holt Road from 41m east of its junction with C637 The Street for 160m eastwards to facilitate carriageway patching works from 6th to 7th October 2025 (may continue until 18th November 2025). WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA – Northfield Lane from 39m east of its junction with Standard Road for 60m eastwards to facilitate new gas connection works from 6th to 10th October 2025 (may continue until 21st November 2025). HETHERSETT – Station Lane from 290 metres north of its junction with A11 Trunk Road for 10 metres northwards to facilitate National Highways junction improvements to the A11 Station Road junction. During the duration this Order is in force, the Norfolk County Council (Hethersett/ Ketteringham) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 2002 shall be suspended and traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the Road shall be permitted from 6th October 2025 to 31st March 2026 (may continue until 5th April 2027). Alternative route is N/A. The works promoter for this suspension is National Highways.
KESWICK AND INTWOOD – C184 Low Road at its intersection with the level crossing for 10m northwards and 10m southwards to facilitate rail maintenance works between 23:00 and 04:00 from 10th to 13th October 2025 (may continue until 24th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Low Road, Mulbarton Road, Ipswich Road, Daniels Road, Newmarket Road, Eaton Street, Newmarket Road, Keswick Road (Cringleford, Keswick and Intwood). ROCKLANDS – U33034 Magpie Lane from its junction with B1077 Brayes Lane for 540m south-eastwards to facilitate carriageway patching works from 6th to 10th October 2025 (may continue until 21st November 2025). Alternative route is via: Brayes Lane, C135/U33034 The Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
SAHAM TONEY – C121 Ploughboy Lane from 120m south of its junction with C119 Hills Road for 40m southwards to facilitate water connection works from 8th to 10th October 2025 (may continue until 21st November 2025). Alternative route is via: C121 Ploughboy Lane, C125 Chequers Lane, C119 Hills Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
SHELFANGER – C205 Heywood Road from its junction with U76206 Wash Lane for 290m eastwards to facilitate meter exchange works between 08:00 and 16:00 on 8th October 2025 (may continue until 19th November 2025). SWAFFHAM – 1) Lynn Road from its junction with Lawrence Way for 84m eastwards and 2) Whitsands Road from its junction with Lynn Road for 10m southwards to facilitate sewer connection works and resurfacing works between 08:00 and 17:00 from 8th to 12th October 2025 (may continue until 23rd November 2025). SWARDESTON – B1113 Main Road from 90m northeast of its junction with Short Lane for 1350m north-eastwards to facilitate UK Power Networks electrical cable works, the road will be temporarily subject to a 40mph speed restriction from 4th October 2025 to 1st October 2026 (may continue until 3rd April 2027). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is UK Power Networks. The Norfolk County Council (Swaffham) (Various Roads) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2023 will be revoked from the date this Order is in effect (in force).
TACOLNESTON – C347 New Road from its junction with U76165 Storys Lane for 670m northwards to facilitate meter exchange works between 08:00 and 17:00 on 8th October 2025 (may continue until 19th November 2025). Alternative route is via: New Road, The Street, Wymondham Road, Norwich Road, The Turnpike (Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall, Tacolneston). The works promoter is Anglian Water.
WRENINGHAM – C186 Wymondham Road from its junction with C825 Potash Lane for 600m westwards to facilitate new roundabout works. The road will be temporarily subject to a 40mph speed restriction from 6th October to 5th January 2026 (may continue until 5th April 2027). Alternative route is via: N/A. WYMONDHAM – U78310 Orchard Way from its junction with U78318 Rothbury Road for 500m westwards to facilitate footway maintenance works. The road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) and traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the road will be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load and/or unload from 6th October to 22nd December 2025 (may continue until 22nd June 2026). Alternative route is via: Rothbury Road, Popple Street, Back Lane, Orchard Way. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
YAXHAM – C200 Norwich Road from its junction with U35007 Spring Lane for 220m eastwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 15:30 on 8th October 2025 (may continue until 16th November 2025). HUNSTANTON – St Edmunds Terrace from 30m south of its junction with The Green for 15m southwards to facilitate sub station works, traffic (constituting any class of vehicle except buses) over the Road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload including the Loading Bay from 6th October 2025 to 31st January 2026 (may continue until 5th April 2027).
