(CHAMBERS STREET, INNERLEITHEN) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Chambers Street, Innerleithen) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 30 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:00 and 21:00. The Order is required for Scottish Water ironwork repairs.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Chambers Street, Innerleithen. The alternative routes are as follows:

(i) northbound traffic is via Chambers Street, Buccleuch Street, A72, Princes Street, Chambers Street to the point of closure;

(ii) southbound traffic is via Chambers Street, Buccleuch Street, Montgomery Street, Princes Street, A72, Buccleuch Street, Chambers Street to the point of closure;

(iii) eastbound traffic is via Chambers Street, Horsbrugh Street, Montgomery Street, Buccleuch Street, Chambers Street to the point of closure; and

(iv) westbound traffic is via Chambers Street, Princes Street, A72, Buccleuch Street, Chambers Street to the point of closure.

(B712 DAWYCK, PEEBLES) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (B712 Dawyck, Peebles) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 29 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 16:00 on 24 October 2025. The Order is required for drainage works. When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven:

(i) any vehicle exceeding 7.5T MGW, except for access and egress; and

(ii) any vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph;

along the B712 at Dawyck, near Peebles from Floors to a point 150 metres east of its junction with the C9.

The alternative northeast bound route for vehicles over 7.5T MGW is via the B712, A701, A72 and B712 to the point of closure, for southwest bound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(CAERLEE MILL, INNERLEITHEN) (TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Caerlee Mill, Innerleithen) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 29 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 12 January 2026. The Order is required in the interests of road/public safety for the demolition of Caerlee Mill. When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of road/public safety, no person shall:

(a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Caerlee Mill from Number 42 to Number 44.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Caerlee Mill Road to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing: and

(b) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along the east side of Damside, Innerleithen opposite Number 39 - top 2 parking spaces, and will only be in effect when appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road.
