What is happening?

THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF 
WINDSOR & MAIDENHEAD
(B4447 MAIDENHEAD ROAD (PART), 
COOKHAM RISE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) 
ORDER NO. 2 2025
The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to: Whyteladyes Lane and Lightlands Lane.

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order is via the B4447 Maidenhead Road, B4447 Cannondown Road, B4447 Switchback Road North, B4447 Gardner Road, B4447 Cookham Road, A4 St Cloud Way and A4 Bridge Road, A4094 Ray Mead Road, A4094 Lower Cookham Road, A4094 Sutton Road, B4447 High Street,B4447 The Pound and B4447 Maidenhead Road.

The purpose of the proposed Order is to facilitate works on the highway, namely Railway Bridge inspection and as a result there is the likelihood of danger to the public.

The proposed Order will come into operation from 21:00 hours on Sunday 19 October until 05:00 hours on Monday 20 October 2025. This Order shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months at such other periods as may be agreed, to allow for further necessary railway bridge maintenance at such times when signs as prescribed by the Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016 are in place to indicate the said restrictions.
