Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Buckley’s Lane, Coggeshall)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Buckley’s Lane, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Tey Road to its junction with Buckley’s Lane a distance of approximately 20m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03063674993 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Tey Road, Colne Road, America Road, Floories Road, Brookhouse Road, Coggeshall Road and vice versa. (with access only into Buckley’s Road).

The Order will come into effect on 3rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Church Street, Coggeshall)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Church Street, Coggeshall in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 30m north east of its junction with Stoneham Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 22nd October 2025 for 2 nights (18:00–07:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD01310772932 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via St Peters Road, East Street and vice versa (with access only into Church Street).

The Order will come into effect on 3rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Hanover Bridge, Feering)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hanover Bridge, Feering in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Hanover Square to its other junction with Hanover Square a distance of approximately 165m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th October 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388618 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while kerbing, signing and lining works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Hanover Square, Wills Green, Old Road, Skye Green Road, Coggeshall Road, The Street and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 19th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
