Harwich Road & Bargate Lane, Lawford - Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Harwich Road, Lawford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harwich Road, Lawford in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Tile Barn Lane to its junction with Dedham Road a distance of approximately 1310m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th October 2025 for 1 night (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH23833195) – Essex County Council.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while signage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via A137, A133, A123, A1232, A12, A14, A137 and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 3rd October 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bargate Lane, Lawford)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bargate Lane, Lawford in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Harwich Road for a distance of approximately 275m in a north westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th October 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2385900 – Essex County Council).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Harwich Road, Coggeshall Road, Long Road East, Bargate Lane and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 19th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
