Hertfordshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS AND FOOTWAY IN WATFORD AND LEAVESDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect on the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”) and footway (“the Footway”) will be:

  1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of A41 (North Western Avenue, Watford/Leavesden), from its junction with the northbound carriageway, including the Aerodrome Way/Downing Way roundabout, southwards to its junction with the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 398m, except for access.

  2. To prohibit all vehicles via the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 roundabout, A41 North Western Avenue, A405 North Orbital Road, Horseshoe Lane, College Road, Langley Lane and Aerodrome Way.

  3. To prohibit all vehicles from using the southbound carriageway of A41 (Gadeside, Watford/Leavesden), from its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Downing Way roundabout south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 389m, except for access.

An alternative route will be via Aerodrome Way, Langley Lane, College Road, Horseshoe Lane and A405 North Orbital Road.

3. To prohibit all vehicles from using the footway situated on the west side of the A41 North Western Avenue, Watford/Leavesden) from a point 459m south-east of its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Downing Way roundabout north-westwards to the Aerodrome Way/Downing Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 395m.

An alternative route will be the footpath situated on the north side of A41 North Western Avenue, and the footway situated on the east side of A41 (North Western Avenue/Gadeside).

4. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on the southbound carriageway of A41 (Northwestern Avenue, Watford/Gadeside, Leavesden) from its junction with the A41 eastbound slip road leading onto the A405 North Orbital Road roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Aerodrome Way/Downing Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 395m, where signs are in place.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads or Footway.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads and Footway.

(TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON POLLARDS, MAPLE CROSS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on the following lengths of road (“the Roads”), except for access:

  1. both sides of Pollards, Maple Cross from its easternmost junction with Oakfield to a point 15m west of its easternmost junction with Oakfield, a distance of approximately 27m.

  2. both sides of Pollards, Maple Cross from its easternmost junction with Oakfield north eastwards to its junction with Oakfield Lane, a distance of approximately 166m.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LOWER PADDOCK ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lower Paddock Road, Watford from a point in line with the north western boundary of No.7 Lower Paddock Road south eastwards to a point in line with the south eastern boundary of No.16 Lower Paddock Road, a distance of approximately 15m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Lower Paddock Road, Villiers Road, Upper Paddock Road and Lower Paddock Road.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF PARK AVENUE, BUSHEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Park Avenue, Bushey from its junction with Link Road south westwards to its junction with Colt Close, a distance of approximately 38m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Park Avenue, Bushey Mill Lane, B462 Aldenham Road, High Road, Greatheart Road and Park Avenue.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON VARIOUS ROADS IN CHORLEYWOOD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):

  1. north westbound traffic on the unnamed link road between Stag Lane and Rendlesham Way, Chorleywood from its junction with Rendlesham Way north westwards to its junction with Stag Lane, a distance of approximately 20m.

    An alternative route will be via Stag Lane, Heronsgate Road and Quickley Lane.

  2. northbound traffic on Rendlesham Way, Chorleywood from its junction with unnamed link road to Stag Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Stag Lane northwards to its junction with unnamed link road, a distance of approximately 43m.

    An alternative route will be via unnamed link road, Stag Lane and Rendlesham Way.

  3. north eastbound traffic on Quickley Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Quickley Lane and Shire Lane north eastwards to its junction with Hillside Road, a distance of approximately 716m.

    An alternative route will be via Quickley Lane, Heronsgate Road, Lower Road and Hillside Road.

  4. that length of Hillside Road, Chorleywood from its junction with Quickley Lane north westwards to its junction with Shire Lane, a distance of approximately 332m.

    An alternative route will be via Quickley Lane, Heronsgate Road and Shire Lane.

  5. that length of Shire Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with North Hill north eastwards to its junction with Hillside Road, a distance of approximately 154m.

An alternative route will be via Chalfont Lane, Blacketts Wood Drive, Whitehills Avenue and Shire Lane.

6. that length of Blacketts Wood Drive, Chorleywood from its junction with Shire Lane north eastwards to its junction with Blacketts Wood Drive, a distance of approximately 84m.

An alternative route will be via Shire Lane, Whitehills Avenue and Blacketts Wood Drive.

7. to prohibit all vehicular traffic is prohibited from being driven at a speed exceeding 30mph on that length of Burtons Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Chalfont Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 481m, where signs are in place.

The Order is needed because utility installation works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN SULLIVAN WAY, ELSTREE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sullivan Way, Elstree from its junction with Elstree Hill South westwards and north westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of the Road, except for access.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 October 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF TOMS LANE, ABBOTS LANGLEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Toms Lane, Abbots Langley from its junction with Station Road north eastwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 577m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Station Road, Home Park Mill Link, A4251 Watford Road, A414/North Western Avenue/Gadeside, Aerodrome Way, Langley Lane, Tibb’s Hill Road, Bedmond Road and High Street.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN KINGSWOOD ROAD AND BRIAR ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:

  1. that length of Kingswood Road, Watford from its junction with Sheepcot Lane south westwards to its westernmost junction with Briar Road, a distance of approximately 577m.

  2. that length of Kingswood Road, Watford from its junction with Sheepcot Lane north eastwards to its junction with Briar Road, a distance of approximately 140m.

  3. that length of Briar Road, Watford from its junction with Farm Way north eastwards to its junction with Briarwood Drive, North Approach and Briar Road, a distance of approximately 425m.

  4. that length of Briar Road, Watford from its easternmost junction with Kingswood Road south eastwards to a distance of approximately 15m.

An alternative route will be via Sheepcot Lane, Apple Tree Walk, Sheepcot Lane, A405 North Orbital Road, North Approach and Briar Road.

An alternative route will be via Briar Road, Apple Tree Walk, Sheepcot Lane, A405 North Orbital Road, Greenbank Road, North Approach and Briar Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 September 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
