What is happening?

(D14/4 ABBOTSFORD, MELROSE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (D14/4 Abbotsford, Melrose) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 7 October 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 to 15:30. The Order is required for BT pole replacement.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D14/4 opposite Abbotsford Visitor Centre, Melrose.
The alternative route for southbound traffic is via the B6360, A6091, B6360, B6374, B6394 and D14/4 to the point of closure, for northbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(SCOTTISH AMBULANCE SERVICE CLINIC – NEWTOWN ST BOSWELLS)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (Scottish Ambulance Service Clinic – Newtown
St Boswells) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 7 October 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 5 December 2025 between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 each day. The Order is required in the interests of public safety due to increased traffic and pedestrians attending the Scottish Ambulance Service mobile clinic.
When the Order comes into effect, in the interests of public safety, no person shall
(i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle, and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, on Waverley Place Car Park, Newtown St Boswells on 7 and 8 October, 6 and 7 November and 4 and 5 December 2025.

(WATERSIDE ROAD, JEDBURGH)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (Waterside Road, Jedburgh) (Temporary Closing)
Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 07:00 on 6 October 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 19:00 on 19 December 2025. The Order is required for Bridge Repairs.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Waterside Road, Jedburgh from the junction with the A68.
The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Forthill Terrace, Headrig and
A68 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(MELROSE SPINE WORKS – GALASHIELS TO MELROSE TO NEWTOWN)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
The Scottish Borders Council (Melrose Spine Works – Galashiels to Melrose to
Newtown) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 8 October 2025 and is expected to remain in effect until 22 October 2025, as detailed in the Schedule below. The Order is required for BT Openreach network upgrade works.
When the Order comes into effect no person shall (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven; and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along those roads detailed in the Schedule below, overnight between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 each night on the specified dates.

High Street, Melrose – from School Lane to West End Lane – North side
High Street, Melrose – from St Dunstan’s Park to West End Lane – south side
From 15 October 2025 for three nights Langlands Place, Newtown – from Eildon View to Waverley Place – both sides of the road
From 20 October 2025 for two nights
B6398, Newtown – from Tweedside Road to Hawkslee Park – both sides of the road
