ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)(a)
THE A14 TRUNK ROAD (KETTERING, NORTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A14 Trunk Road, at Kettering, in North Northamptonshire, to enable junction improvement works to be
carried out.
The effect of the Order will be to –
(1) impose a 50 miles per hour speed restriction on –
(a) the westbound carriageway of the A14 from a point 100 metres southwest of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the slip road leading to its roundabout junction with the A6 and Barton Road (A14 Junction 10 Roundabout), at Kettering, to a point 100 metres northeast of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the slip road leading to its roundabout junction with the A509, Isham Road and Boughton (A14 Junction 9 Roundabout);
(b) the eastbound carriageway of the A14 from a point 100 metres northwest of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the access road leading to the service area, at Kettering, to a point 100 metres northwest of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the slip road leading to the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout; and (c) the entry slip road leading to the westbound carriageway of the A14 from the A14 Junction 10 Roundabout; and
(2) impose a 40 miles per hour speed restriction on –
(a) the westbound carriageway of the A14 from a point 100 metres northeast of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the slip road leading to the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout, to a point 100 metres northwest of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the slip road leading from the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout;
(b) the eastbound carriageway of the A14 from a point 100 metres northwest of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the slip road leading to the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout, to a point 100 metres northwest of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the slip road leading from the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout;
(c) a length of the slip road leading from the westbound carriageway of the A14 to the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout, from the tip of the nosing at its junction with the A14, to a point 119 metres east of its junction with A14 Junction 9 Roundabout;
(d) the slip road leading to the westbound carriage way of the A14 from the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout;
(e) a length of the slip road leading from the eastbound carriageway of the A14 to the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout, from the tip of the nosing at its junction with the A14, to a point 143 metres west of its junction with the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout; and (f) the slip road leading to the eastbound
carriageway of the A14 from the A14 Junction 9 Roundabout.
The work is expected to start on Monday 27 October 2025 and continue for approximately nine months. The Order will come into force on Monday 20 October 2025.
Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance or special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restrictions.
