Southwick, Footpath Diversion Order

NOTICE OF MAKING A PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 119 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 WILTSHIRE COUNCIL THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF SOUTHWICK FOOTPATHS 36 AND 37 DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above order, made on 16 September 2025, under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, will divert Footpaths Southwick 36 and 37 situated at Hangar House, Lamberts Marsh, Southwick. That entire width of Southwick 36 will be diverted from OS Grid Reference ST 8311-5470, leading in a broadly east north easterly direction for approximately 169 metres to OS Grid Reference ST 8328-5471, to a new route at OS Grid Reference ST 8312-5472 leading in a broadly easterly direction for approximately 166 metres to OS Grid Reference ST 8328-5471, the path having a width of 2 metres. Also, that entire width of Southwick 37 will be diverted from OS Grid Reference ST 8311-5470, leading in a broadly north easterly direction for approximately 100 metres to OS Grid Reference ST 8317-5478, to a new route from OS Grid Reference ST 8310-5470, leading in a broadly north easterly direction for 24 metres to OS Grid Reference ST 8312-5472, having a width of 3 metres. Then continuing in a broadly north easterly direction for approximately 76 metres to OS Grid Reference ST 8317-5478, the path having a width of 2 metres. And thereupon the Warminster and Westbury Rural District Council Area Definitive Map dated 1953 shall be modified accordingly. quoting the order title “The Wiltshire Council parish of Southwick footpaths 36 and 37 diversion and definitive map and statement modification order 2025” not later than 5:00pm on 24 October 2025 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Wiltshire Council may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
