Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Greater Lane (Part), Edington; from its junction with Greatwood for a distance of approximately 25m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out S81 and associated works. Alternative route via B3098 – C49 – Greater Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. B) Dunch Lane (Part), Melksham; from its junction with A350 to its junction with Southbrook Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out works to exposed embankments and associated works. Alternative route via Southbrook Road – Roundpond – A365 – A350 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 1 day. C) B3105 (Part), Hilperton; from its roundabout junction with A361 for a distance of approximately 800m in a north westerly direction to enable Brandwells to carry out S278 – completion of road widening, to provide access roads into Barant and Persimmon development. Plane off existing and relay new tarmac. Alternative route via B3105 (unaffected length) – B3107 – A350 – A361 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 26 October 2025. D) Cross Street (Part), Trowbridge; from its junction with Timbrell Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out permanent reinstatement and associated works. Alternative route via Cross Street (unaffected length) – Charlotte Street – B3106 – Timbrell Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 October 2025 and the closure will be required for 2 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 600 4600. Orders A) to D) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
