London Borough of Lambeth - temporary traffic, parking, stopping, waiting and loading restrictions - The Pavement

What is happening?

LONDON BOROUGH OF LAMBETH 
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC, PARKING, STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS – THE PAVEMENT 
 
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, to enable UK Power Networks to carry out maintenance, the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily ban; 
(a) vehicles from entering that length of The Pavement which lies between Wingate Square and the south eastern property boundary of No. 30 The Pavement. Access for residents will be maintained; 
(b) vehicles proceeding in a south westerly direction in Grafton Square from turning left into Old Town; 
(c) vehicles proceeding in a south westerly direction in Wingate Square from turning left into The Pavement; 
(d) vehicles proceeding in an easterly direction in The Polygon from turning right into Old Town or The Pavement. 
 
2. Alternative routes for affected vehicles will be available via Old Town and The Pavement, and vice versa. 
 
3. Whenever the ban referred to in paragraph 1(a) above applies, the one-way system in Old Town   between No. 39 Old Town and Wingate Square will be temporarily suspended to allow access to and egress from that length of road. 
 
4. Whenever the ban referred to in paragraph 1(a) above applies, the one-way system in Grafton Square at the junction with Old Town will be temporarily suspended to allow access to and egress from that length of road.  
 
5. The Order will come into force on 6 October 2025 and will continue in force for a maximum duration of 2 months (to allow for contingencies) or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. In practice, it is anticipated that the works will take place between 6 October and 17 October 2025, but if the works cannot be carried out or completed during that time then the Order may have effect at subsequent times within the maximum period of 2 months.
