Isle of Wight – Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Works

What is happening?

The Isle of Wight Council (Whitehouse Cross, Porchfield, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 3 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0930 and 1530 hours on Wednesday 1 October 2025, or when the works have been completed, Whitehouse Cross will be closed between its junctions with Whitehouse Road and a point 200 metres west thereof. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Mill Hill Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 4 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0930 and 1530 hours on Thursday 2 October 2025, or when the works have been completed, Mill Hill Road will be closed between its junctions with Bellevue Road and Grove Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Station Road, St Helens, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure) Order No 2 2025

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900 hours on Wednesday 1 October 2025 until 1800 hours on Thursday 2 October 2025, or when the works has been completed, Station Road will be closed between its junctions with Downs View Road and Latimer Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The restriction is required for utility works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 26 September 2025 and Friday 07 November 2025 the following roads will be closed between 0930 and 1530 for a period of approximately one to 15 days within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance, lining and investigation works, and any associated prep works, to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads; and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences. Adverse weather will have an impact on this programme:

The Isle of Wight Council (Marlborough Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Marlborough Road, Ryde will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Weston Lane, Totland, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 4 2025 – Weston Lane, Totland – will be closed for its entire length.

The Isle of Wight Council (Oaklands Close, Wootton, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Road Closure and Parking Restrictions) Order No 1 2025 – Oaklands Close, Wootton will be closed for its entire length.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 26 September 2025 and Friday 07 November 2025 the following roads will be closed between 1930 and 0600 for a period of approximately one to 5 days / nights within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable high friction surfacing works, and any associated prep works, to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads: and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road were indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works.
