What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (B5299 DALSTON ROAD, CARLISLE)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable surface dressing works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the B5299 Dalston Road, Carlisle from its junction with Dunmail Drive to its junction with Cummersdale Road.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the B5299 Dalston Road, Shaddongate, Bridge Street, Church Street, A595 Wigton Road and the A689 (Carlisle Southern Link Road).

The Order will come into operation on 13 October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that each restriction will only be required for up to 13 days within the period from 13 October 2025 to 1 January 2026, and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
