South Lakeland, Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5023 SPARK BRIDGE, U5124 SWARTHMOOR AND THE C5036, PENNINGTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the:
(i) C5023, Spark Bridge, from its junction with the U5029, extending in a north easterly then southerly direction for a distance of approx. 155 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5023, A590, Greenodd Roundabout and the A5092. Duration: From 14th October 2025 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTRO/VI/5872)
(ii) U5124, Swarthmoor, from a point approx. 85 metres north east of its junction with Rufus Lane, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 60 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U5124, Ulverston Road (A590), Cross-A-Moor and the C5036. Duration: From 20th October 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTRO/VI/5833)
(iii) C5036, Pennington, from its junction with Seg Lane, extending in a westerly direction for a distance of approx. 55 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5036, U5123 and the U5124. Duration: From 27th October 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTRO/VI/5830)

The Order will come into operation on 14th October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be in place as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
