Oakcroft Lane, Ranvilles Lane & The Poplars, Fareham – 30mph Speed Limit Introduction
What is happening?
TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS –
30MPH SPEED LIMIT ON OAKCROFT LANE AND RANVILLES LANE, FAREHAM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council (“the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 84 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to implement a 30 miles per hour speed limit on Oakcroft Lane and adjacent roads, as follows:
(i) Oakcroft Lane between its junction with Ranvilles Lane and its junction with The Poplars, an approximate distance of 510 metres.
(ii) Ranvilles Lane between its junction with Farm House Close and its junction with Oakcroft Lane, an approximate distance of 160 metres.
(iii) The Poplars, for its entire length.
The Poplars will become 30 miles per hour by virtue of section 82(1)(a) of the Act, with no requirement for an Order.

(iii) Hampshire County Council Headquarters, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ (Opening hours: Mondays to Thursdays 8.30 – 17.15; Fridays 8.30 – 16.45)

OBJECTIONS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIONS: All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or email public.notices@hants.gov.uk quoting reference: - C882/KK, by Friday 17th October 2025. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
TITLE: The order, if made, will be known as “The Hampshire (Oakcroft Lane and Ranvilles Lane, Fareham) (30 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2025.”
