East Street, Temporary Road Closure Due To Gas Works
What is happening?
Notice of Intention
NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: U80005, East Street, Hereford, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the U80005, East Street, Hereford, from the access to Albion Court car park to approximately 40mtrs west of junction with St Johns Street. Grid Ref: 351000/239956.
The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via Broad Street onto Kings Street onto St Nicholas Street onto the A49 onto the A438, onto Union Street, onto Offa Street. The said closure is required due to new gas service installation works and the likelihood of danger to the public whilst the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 12th of October 2025 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 1 day.
